Legendary Pictures’ live-action Street Fighter is well on its way with new reports of casting.
As reported by Deadline, the studio is considering four high-profile actors: Andrew Koji (known for Bullet Train), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Noah Centineo (The Recruit), and WWE’s Roman Reigns. The studio is in talks with these four individuals, but has not yet officially announced their roles. There are rumors that Andrew Koji might play Ryu, Noah Centineo could be cast as Ken, Roman Reigns may take on Akuma, and Jason Momoa could portray Blanka. Kitao Sakurai has been confirmed to direct the movie, replacing Danny and Michael Philippou who left in 2024.
Initially set for release on March 20, 2026, the movie has been removed from Sony’s upcoming lineup. As of now, a new release date hasn’t been revealed, but Legendary is continuing their efforts to schedule it for 2026. So far, no specifics about the film’s storyline have been disclosed. Legendary first announced intentions to produce the movie in 2023 following their acquisition of the rights to Capcom’s popular fighting game.
