Legendary performer Liza Minnelli has agreed on a contract to pen her autobiography alongside her lifelong companion and partner, Michael Feinstein.

Grand Central Publishing recently revealed a book agreement with Liza Minnelli, who is the daughter of Judy Garland and director Vincent Minnelli from “An American in Paris.” The deal includes plans for hardcover, e-book, and audio versions to be released in the spring of 2026. After a successful career that earned her Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards, the legendary showbiz figure has finally decided to share her personal journey by writing her own memoir.

I have always prided myself on maintaining control over my narrative, but recent portrayals of me and my life story by individuals who neither knew nor understood my family or myself left me feeling furious. The public spectacle at the Oscars, the twisted half-truths in a film, and the misrepresentations in a recent miniseries were the last straw. Over dinner one evening, I reached a breaking point and decided that it was time for me to tell my own story. After all, it’s my life, and I owe it to the love and support you’ve given me throughout the years. In typical fashion, I will share my story with unparalleled enthusiasm and passion, just as I have lived it.

She sought assistance from Feinstein to pen her memoir. “For four decades, we’ve been inseparable,” Minnelli stated. “As the embodiment of the Great American Songbook and my most cherished collaborator, Michael is simply magnificent. He’s incredibly insightful, and he always speaks the truth,” she continued, expressing her admiration for working with her longtime friend on this project.

She achieved remarkable breakthroughs in “Cabaret” and “Liza with a Z,” yet her journey was marked by multiple marriages and battles with substance addiction. This background sets the stage for what could be an intimately revealing and brutally honest book, chronicling a career filled with accolades and Hollywood’s heartaches.

Since her birth, Liza’s story has been shared by others. Now, following a life filled with exhilarating successes and harrowing struggles, she is prepared to share it herself.
