Loki Season 2 Deleted Scene Reveals Tom Hiddleston’s God Of Mischief Has History With Hercules, And Now I’m Wondering What's Going On With Brett Goldstein’s Character

As a gamer with over two decades of Marvel Universe immersion under my belt, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia as we delve deeper into the intriguing connections between Loki and Hercules. The deleted scene from Loki Season 2 has certainly rekindled my curiosity about Brett Goldstein’s portrayal of the Greek God in the MCU.

Fans who have a Disney+ subscription and watched the conclusion of Loki Season 2 approximately a year ago are now discussing the possibility of Season 3, although it’s not confirmed yet. The second season is generating renewed interest due to its upcoming physical media release on December 3 in Ultra HD Blu-ray format. Extras included with the purchase will feature deleted scenes, one of which reveals Loki’s past connections with Hercules. This has sparked curiosity about Brett Goldstein’s portrayal of the Greek God, who made his debut in the end credits scene of Thor: Love and Thunder.

How Loki And Hercules Are Connected In The MCU

As a devoted fan, I’ve stumbled upon an intriguing deleted scene from Loki’s adventures, as shared by Variety. In this scene, Loki and Owen Wilson’s character Mobius find themselves in the Time Variance Authority’s commissary, casually discussing over a slice of delightful key lime pie. Loki reminisces about numerous individuals who’ve branded him a “problem,” many of whom we’ve already encountered in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

In addition to familiar faces, some unanticipated characters were introduced too, such as Absorbing Man, who was a baddie on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, yet never featured in any Marvel Studios movie production. Similarly, Amora, known as Enchantress in the comics, has not been showcased in the MCU. Loki hinted that Hercules was an issue for him, without offering specifics, suggesting they may have encountered each other before 2011’s Thor, a meeting I’m curious to discover more about.

When Are We Going To See Brett Goldstein’s Hercules Again?

Hey there fellow gamers! I’m Brett Goldstein, known for my roles as Roy Kent on Ted Lasso and in Shrinking (available on Apple TV+). Recently, I had a brief stint in Thor: Love and Thunder where I played Zeus’ son, tasked with finding and taking down the Asgardian God of Thunder. It’s been about two years since Thor 4 hit theaters, but there seems to be no sign of Hercules just yet. So, what’s the deal with him?

If Thor 5 were among the confirmed Marvel movies, it would be reasonable to expect Chris Hemsworth to reappear in that film. However, this is not the case, and it’s unclear if he will star in another Marvel movie of his own. The only other Marvel films where it might make sense for him to appear are Avengers: Doomsday and/or Avengers: Secret Wars, but even these seem unlikely. I’m a big fan of Brett Goldstein and would love to see him given a significant role in the MCU, perhaps leading to Hercules joining the Avengers eventually. Let’s hope that Thor: Love and Thunder doesn’t turn into one of those post-credit scenes that never come to fruition.

Following that, here’s what’s coming up next in the MCU: On December 22, we have the premiere of Season 3 for “What If…?”, followed by “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” on January 29, then “Daredevil: Born Again” on March 4, and “Ironheart” on June 24. In terms of movies, “Captain America: Brave New World” will be released on February 14, and both “Thunderbolts” and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” are set for release in 2025 as well.
