2023 saw the release of Netflix’s documentary film titled “Longest Third Date.” This captivating tale centers around Matt Robertson and Khani Le, a pair who first crossed paths on Hinge, unlike many popular relationship documentaries where one party is a catfish. Their initial meeting sparked a series of dates, culminating in a third date that was supposed to take them to Costa Rica. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and travel restrictions, they found themselves staying in Costa Rica for an extended period of approximately 80 days instead.
On their initial meeting, they shared Indian cuisine, exchanging tales about their diverse travels and personal experiences. The evening stretched late, with Khani proposing another rendezvous via text. For their second encounter, they engaged in axe-throwing; Matt’s acquaintance Mike joined the festivities. When Matt suggested a journey to Costa Rica for their third get-together, Khani seized the opportunity and bought the tickets. Their friends voiced reservations, with Liz advising Khani to always keep her location active, as they embarked on this escapade together.
Initially, Matt and Khani spent an amazing vacation filled with swimming in pools and beaches, ziplining, and more, until a hitch occurred when their flight back home was abruptly canceled on the fourth day of their trip. Being a keen vlogger, Matt captured their overseas adventure on camera as they patiently waited for their return, exploring various cities and further discovering the island. As time went by, they learned to coexist despite their lack of prior acquaintance, eventually developing feelings for each other. Following their Costa Rican escapade, Matt and Khani from “Longest Third Date” have remained a couple ever since.
Costa Rica brought the couple together
About a month following their return from Costa Rica, Matt and Khani decided to share a living space, maintaining the living setup they had established during their third date. They embarked on a road trip to meet each other’s families, and along the way, welcomed a new member to their family – a French bulldog named Banks. Based on an Instagram post from January 2025, it appears that the couple are thriving in their relationship. Matt frequently shares updates about their lives, regularly confirming they are still together, as seen on his account.
Although Khani’s Instagram remains devoid of posts, Matt consistently shares travel vlogs documenting their shared experiences. In November 2024, they embarked on a journey to Kenya for a wedding, scaled a glacier in Alaska in August 2024, and have ventured through various parts of Europe. Matt even hinted at the prospect of returning to Costa Rica in June 2024, soliciting feedback from his followers about the idea of a group trip. Their beloved dog Banks also maintains an Instagram account, featuring snapshots and videos of Matt, Khani, and Banks at restaurants, on walks, and striking poses in public while wearing a pink harness.
