As a seasoned gamer with a deep appreciation for both digital and analog timepieces, I must admit, this Longines Conquest Heritage Year of the Snake limited-edition watch has caught my eye like no other. Coming from someone who’s spent countless hours battling mythical creatures in games inspired by Chinese folklore, the design resonates deeply with me.
The mystical snake on the caseback and the Lingzhi mushroom, a symbol of longevity and immortality, remind me of those epic quests where I’d slay dragons for magical herbs to level up my characters. The collaboration with Wu Jian’an adds an authentic touch that makes this timepiece not just a watch but a piece of art.
The gradient red dial, symbolizing the festivity’s auspicious palette, and the gilt hands and indexes in bright yellow-gold tone give it a regal and festive look, perfect for any Lunar New Year celebration. And let’s not forget about the Longines L888.5 caliber with a power reserve of up to 72 hours; as a gamer who often pulls all-nighters, I appreciate the durability and reliability this watch promises.
Limited to 2,025 pieces, it’s safe to say that this timepiece won’t be sitting idle on store shelves for long, much like my favorite gaming consoles when they get released! So, if you’re a gamer who appreciates the art of watchmaking and the charm of Chinese mythology, I suggest adding the Longines Conquest Heritage Year of the Snake to your collection before it vanishes faster than a rare in-game item.
Oh, and as for the joke: If this watch could tell time in-game hours, it would be the perfect accessory for those marathon gaming sessions!
In preparation for the upcoming Year of the Wood Snake in 2025, Longines unveils a unique Conquest Heritage model to celebrate the approaching Lunar New Year.
In collaboration with Chinese artist Wu Jian’an, Longines has incorporated the year’s zodiac symbol, a mystical snake, into the backside of this exclusive timepiece. The artwork also features a Lingzhi mushroom in the snake’s mouth, representing the idea of time flowing and life continuing. This design is inspired by an ancient Chinese story titled “Stealing the Immortal Herb,” which is part of the “Legend of the White Snake.
The watch face features a gradient red dial, symbolizing the lively colors associated with the festival. Decorating this dial are the watch collection’s distinctive gilt hands and indices in a vibrant yellow-gold hue. Inside the 40mm stainless steel casing ticks the Longines L888.5 caliber, offering a power reserve of up to 72 hours.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share that I’ve got my eyes on the Conquest Heritage Year of the Snake timepiece. Limited to just 2,025 pieces, this beauty is up for grabs with a retail price of $3,150 USD. Keep an eye out, it’s coming soon via Longines!
