As a lifelong gamer with memories deeply rooted in the melodious symphonies of my favorite Nintendo franchises, I must say the release of the Nintendo Music app has been nothing short of a dream come true. The ability to have iconic tunes like Zelda’s Lullaby and Mario’s Super Jump theme playing on demand is truly a game-changer.
It’s true that Nintendo has a partnership with Spotify to offer an exclusive service featuring their extensive music library, and this isn’t some long-overdue prank from April Fool’s Day.
On October 30th, I got excited about the announcement of Nintendo’s new app – the Nintendo Music app! It’s now available for download on my iOS and Android devices. This app is packed with tunes from beloved franchises like The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Super Mario, and many more.
The application can be accessed by individuals who have an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. It’s important to note that you don’t necessarily need to own a Nintendo Switch, because all features are accessible through the associated mobile apps.
Nintendo has poured significant resources into creating this app, making it more than just a collection of video game tunes. Instead, it offers numerous functions that transform it into a comprehensive music application with a unique theme based on their beloved characters and series.
For instance, you’ll find thematic playlists featuring characters such as Princess Zelda or Yoshi. You can energize yourself with a collection of Boss theme songs, or reminisce with a peaceful nighttime assortment of tracks.
Absolutely, custom playlists are available too. Plus, there’s an option to ensure surprise in your gaming experience by filtering songs within tracks that might spoil certain games if they haven’t been played yet.
Without a doubt, what I love most about this tool is its loop function for songs, allowing them to play for specific durations like 15, 30, or 60 minutes. It’s particularly handy when the songs you adore are shorter in length. Needless to say, I’m looking forward to listening to some Fire Emblem melodies on repeat.
Unfortunately, if you’re accustomed to using Spotify or YouTube music apps on your computer, it’s important to note that the Nintendo Music app is only available for mobile devices. This means you’ll need to access and play all your music directly from your smartphone or tablet instead of your PC.
It’s possible that Nintendo will broaden the application’s scope shortly. Don’t fret if you can’t find your preferred tunes on it right now, as they’ve assured us they’ll be adding more music options down the line.
