As a seasoned gamer who’s weathered countless storms in the gaming world, I must say that the upcoming release of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage has piqued my interest like no other game in recent memory. The tantalizing mix of mystery, drama, and time-travel mechanics has me reminiscing about those halcyon days when I was glued to my TV screen, engrossed in the twists and turns of Pretty Little Liars.
Similar to the series Pretty Little Liars, the drama Lost Records: Bloom & Rage follows a group of old friends, long estranged from each other, being forced back together by a significant life event, as their past secrets and regrets begin to unravel.
Initially unveiled at the 2023 Game Awards by Don’t Nod, this upcoming game has been meticulously worked on for next-generation consoles. It has generated quite a buzz due to its enticing promises of an engaging and thought-provoking narrative.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage gameplay revealed at Gamescom
At the Gamescom Open Night Live event, I caught the very first glimpse of the upcoming game, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, from the creators at Don’t Nod. The First Look Trailer showcased a sneak peek into the storyline’s first half and their distinctive dynamic dialogue system that sets it apart.
In the trailer, we see how the story moves between the two time periods of 1995 and 2022, utilizing Swann’s camcorder as a means to transition between these eras, allowing us to both rewrite history and observe it unfolding in the present day.
In maturity, there’s often a palpable undercurrent of snappiness in our conversations. Players have the freedom to avoid some characters altogether, interject others, or be attentive to every minutiae shared by the group.
Your decisions in the dialogue significantly shape the course of your story, as Dontnod aims to deliver an incredibly immersive experience that draws you close to the protagonist Swann and her group of former girlfriends. From what we’ve seen in the trailer, it seems that the initial segment of the tale will debut on February 18, 2025. The second half is scheduled for release a month later, specifically on March 18.
Previously, Don’t Nod stated that splitting the story into two parts is designed to allow fans to engage in a Game of Thrones-style speculation. This pause between parts fosters the development of theories and intrigue. In any case, we’re eager to discover what the Life Is Strange team has been working on behind the scenes.
