Loveyapa actress Khushi Kapoor opens up about competition with sister Janhvi Kapoor: ‘It’s so strange…’

Khushi Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor have a beautiful, supportive relationship, which is evident in their frequent encouragement of one another. Currently, Khushi is focusing on the promotion of her upcoming film “Loveyapa.” In a recent interview, she discussed the idea of competition between her and her sister within the industry. Interestingly, Khushi stated that there was no such rivalry between them, finding the concept rather ‘unusual.’

During a conversation with Varinder Chawla’s team, Khushi Kapoor addressed the topic of competition between her and her sister Janhvi Kapoor, who are contemporaries in the film industry. In response, Khushi emphasized that such thoughts of competition are completely alien to them, finding it unusual to even consider the possibility of being rivals. She expressed this sentiment as, “That idea is so far removed from us. It’s bizarre to imagine that we could be competing against each other.

In a situation where they were both competing for the same project, Khushi expressed that she’d view it as a success if Janhvi was chosen instead of herself. She mentioned that her sister would share this perspective as well. “I don’t believe there could ever be another way to perceive it,” Khushi further emphasized.

Previously, Khushi Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor caused a stir online with their performance on the song “Loveyapa” by Loveyapa. In the video, these sisters sported black sunglasses and danced the catchy hookstep of the track. Their father, Boney Kapoor, made brief appearances twice during the video as he sang the alaap. This left his daughters in fits of laughter.

In her caption, Khushi expressed, “I went out with the intention of falling in love, only for my father to show up instead” #FatherlyAdvice. Check out the video here!

In the upcoming film Loveyapa, Khushi Kapoor and Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, are set to share the screen for the first time. This marks the big-screen debut of both these promising newcomers. The movie is helmed by Advait Chandan and is slated for release in cinemas on February 7, 2025.

In her upcoming projects, Janhvi Kapoor will star in a romantic comedy titled Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. This film, set to release on April 18, 2025, pairs her with Varun Dhawan. Apart from this, she is also working on another romantic movie called Param Sundari alongside Sidharth Malhotra.
