Loveyapa OTT Release: Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan’s rom-com to drop digitally on THIS date? Here’s what we know

The romantic comedy “Loveyapa” hit the big screen in cinemas on Valentine’s Week, February 7, 2025. This was the first time Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor appeared on the silver screen together. Now, about two months after its theater premiere, it has been announced that the movie will soon be available digitally. It is expected to debut on streaming platforms on April 4.

Based on a recent update from OTTplay, it’s anticipated that Loveyapa will premiere for streaming on April 4, 2025. Earlier announcements have already revealed its streaming partner. Posters suggest that this romantic comedy will be accessible on JioHotstar. Fans of Bollywood who missed the film in cinemas or want to revisit it can now do so comfortably from their homes.

As a devoted fan, I must mention that an official announcement about the digital release date of the film has yet to come our way.

The movie “Loveyapa” centers on two Gen Z characters named Junaid Khan as Gaurav and Khushi Kapoor as Baani. In this film, prior to their wedding, they exchange their mobile phones for a day, resulting in much confusion and a trial of their relationship bond.

In addition to the main duo, Ashutosh Rana, Grusha Kapoor, Tanvika Parlikar, Kiku Sharda, Devishi Madaan, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Nikhil Mehta, Jason Tham, Yunus Khan, Yuktam Khosla, and Kunj Anand are all featured in the cast.

Loveyapa is helmed by director Advait Chandan, who gained fame with Laal Singh Chaddha. Produced by AGS Entertainment and Phantom, this movie is a creation of Phantom Studios.

As an ardent admirer, I must confess my deep disappointment in the poor box office performance of Loveyapa, a film close to my heart given its association with Junaid Khan, whose talent I deeply respect. In an interview with ABP News, none other than Aamir Khan, Junaid’s father, shared his sentiment about the movie’s underperformance, expressing his sorrow by saying, “Regrettably, that film didn’t work out. Consequently, I feel a great sense of sadness.” Aamir went on to share that he found the movie to be good and appreciated Junaid’s performance as well.

In her review, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor‘s sister, expressed affection for the movie as well. She referred to it as “a delightful romantic comedy filled with amusement, laughter, novelty, and even a touch of emotion.

Now, it’s time to see how the audience will receive the movie on OTT.
