As a gamer with a keen eye for fashion and a heart full of nostalgia for medieval times, Marie Lueder’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection left me utterly spellbound! The fusion of modern design with ancient art forms felt like stepping into an immersive RPG game.
On a Saturday morning, Marie Lueder’s self-titled brand debuted at London Fashion Week after a smoky showing in Berlin just two months ago. Now part of the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN group, LUEDER has expanded to bigger venues by returning to its native soil.
For LUEDER’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection titled “ALBEDO,” the brand reached a remarkable achievement, showcasing its distinctive dramatics while delving into medieval art inspired by light and radiation. As part of the four-phase Magnum Opus, the designer delved into the world of chemical reactions using natural coloring agents, collaborating with the French-British artist Thomas P. Grogan to conduct experiments on alchemical reactions. The outcome was a series of one-of-a-kind prints and patterns.
At LUEDER’s first London Fashion Week appearance, models awkwardly yet stylishly strutted down the catwalk before breaking into freeform dance movements, signaling the start of the show. The brand presented its medieval-themed collection for Spring/Summer ’25, featuring 30 unique outfits crafted from various materials such as denim and leather. Sustainable practices remained a top priority throughout the creation process. The initial outfit marched confidently down the runway, sporting swirling denim battle-ready panels, followed by reimagined pinstriped shirts with knotted shoulder bags, perfect for your next journey.
As a gamer, I found myself immersed in a world where mythical creatures were wounded by fire-spewing beasts, cloaked in leather hoods, and styled with torn sweatpants for a primitive aesthetic. The materials of their armor twisted on avant-garde bomber jackets that unfurled at the neck, showcasing LUEDER’s craftsmanship in creating suits of armor adorned with asymmetrical leather uniforms, complete with stained and gradient finishes. Lastly, LUEDER revolutionized the fashion scene by introducing soft tailoring for the first time, featuring robust shoulder silhouettes paired with calf-length skirts inspired by historical designs.
