Made In Heaven director Reema Kagti had her ADs cook at night on Superboys of Malegaon set after small mistake

Reema Kagti is known for getting her shots perfect, and this trait has been evident on the sets of her upcoming movie, Superboys of Malegaon. In a recent interview, the film’s team shared insights into her meticulous approach to shooting and emphasized how even a small mistake on set can lead to unexpected challenges for the crew. One particular incident stands out, showcasing how her attention to detail led the crew to work extra hours.

During an interview with HT, the team reminisced about an on-set incident. One evening during filming, the production team needed to arrange food items as props for a scene. The prop department had thoughtfully selected keema samosas for the shot. Unfortunately, Reema Kagti, in her director’s vigilance, swiftly noticed a blunder when Punjabi samosas were unintentionally included in the frame instead.

Vineet Kumar Singh, one of the film’s actors, shared an incident where Reema quickly spotted a mistake. Instead of keema samosas, she had found Punjabi ones on set. Reema didn’t hesitate to call it out and stressed the significance of nailing every tiny detail.

1. Reema didn’t let a mistake slide, she felt compelled to correct it no matter what the cost, even if that meant working late into the night.

2. She quickly delegated the task to her team, including the assistant directors (ADs), to handle the issue.
3. The ADs then went to the kitchen where they prepared fresh keema samosas and brought them back to the set.

Working with Reema’s meticulousness may result in additional efforts for the team, yet actors admire her commitment to authenticity. Vineet Kumar Singh, one of the main actors in Superboys of Malegaon, admitted that collaborating with Reema can be tough but ultimately worthwhile.

The upcoming movie, featuring Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Shashank Arora, has been highly acclaimed for its distinctive plot, which is loosely based on the true-life events experienced by filmmakers from Malegaon. Known as “Superboys of Malegaon,” this film will make its global debut on February 28, following its premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
