recently shared an unexpected view on the possibility of working with his Creed III co-star
again in a new sequel. Majors is set to make his first on-screen appearance since being convicted on several counts of abuse in the delayed movie Magazine Dreams. However, while there are some that are still doubtful that Majors is about to be forgiven for his misdemeanors by the public, Jordan certainly doesn’t hold any beef against the actor that he still has a lot of respect for.
In a candid conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Jordan reflected on Majors’ recent legal woes, showing an incredible level of support for the actor, including suggesting that the pair could still work together on a sequel to their 2023 hit boxing movie. He said:
“He was arrested. He went to court. He did what he was supposed to do. I’m not sure what else there is. I would love to make Creed IV together — among other projects, I’ve known and know him as someone who is continuously striving to improve as a human, a man and an actor. I believe in him.”
Majors has faced substantial challenges since his 2023 conviction on charges of assault and harassment. These legal issues had severe repercussions for his rising career, most notably leading to his unceremonious exit from Marvel Studios, where he had been portraying the character Kang the Conqueror and was set to be an all-encompassing villain across the Multiverse Saga. At the same time, Majors was dropped from several other projects, and his completed movie, Magazine Dreams, was put into a state of suspended animation until it could be decided what should be done with it.
Jonathan Majors is Hoping for a Comeback, Starting with ‘Magazine Dreams’
Despite Majors’ convictions, he has retained the support of several prominent actors, such as Matthew McConaughey, and now Jordan. After being stuck in limbo, Magazine Dreams is now being seen as Majors’ shot at a comeback, and as the film’s March 21 release approaches, all eyes are on how the movie performs as a first indicator of how far Majors’ career has fallen in the last two years.
Public opinion remains mixed regarding Majors’ potential rehabilitation and return to the industry. While Magazine Dreams may not be the blockbuster movie that will make him a household name again, the prospect of a return to the Rocky franchise in Creed IV could well be an unexpected and much-needed big franchise role to give Majors the kind of boost he would need to find himself back in the running for some big future roles.
Of course, no matter who he has supporting him, and how many movies he appears in, the decision on whether those movies are a success comes down to the public. Magazine Dreams may be just a small indicator of which way the needle is currently swinging, and exactly how much of an uphill struggle Majors is going to have in order to regain just a small piece of what he was on the cusp of two years ago.
