Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles to Honor Ashley Park at Masquerade Wish Gala

As a gamer who has always admired the world of entertainment, I can’t help but be inspired by stories like Ashley Park’s. Her journey from being a wish recipient to a wish-granter is nothing short of extraordinary. It’s a poignant reminder that life sometimes throws us lemons, but it’s up to us to make lemonade – or in this case, create wishes that bring joy and hope to those who need it most.

Ashley Park has a date with Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles.

On October 19th, I’ll be graced with an Alumni Leadership Award at the Masquerade Wish Gala happening at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City. It’s a star-studded event, with Anthony Anderson hosting and Julianne Hough making a special appearance. I’m thrilled to share this night with fellow honorees Kendra Scott, receiving a Philanthropic Leader Award, and Kev Zoryan, taking home the Power of a Wish Trophy. It promises to be an unforgettable evening!

At 15, Park was diagnosed with Leukemia, leading to several grueling months of treatment in the hospital, away from family. Eventually, his wish granted by the foundation took him and his loved ones to a Broadway show in New York. After being apart for so long, this shared experience brought immense joy to his family. For children enduring unexpected hospital stays and distressing treatments, a wish can offer an opportunity to reclaim some of their childhood and regain control. That wish made a profound impact on Park’s life.

Scott holds the positions of founder and creative head for her personal lifestyle brand. On the other hand, Zoryan has recently stepped down as managing director and lead of U.S. asset management at Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing, and is a founding member of the real estate advisory board at Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles. Viviane Krief Woodcock, gala co-chair and board member for Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles, praised Ashley, Kendra, and Kev, saying, “These exceptional individuals have shown incredible dedication, passion, and generosity that has significantly improved the lives of many. Their unwavering support and commitment empower us to continue granting life-changing wishes that bring hope, resilience, and happiness to children in our community who are fighting serious illnesses.

For over three decades, Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles has been fulfilling more than 10,000 heartfelt wishes. Our upcoming gala is a special occasion to acknowledge those who have made substantial contributions towards this noble cause. The funds raised during this event will be directly channeled towards making even more dreams come true in our local community.
