Following a brief hiatus, actress Mallika Sherawat is poised for her Bollywood resurgence, appearing in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. Preparing for this comeback, Sherawat reflects on her initial years in the film industry and expresses appreciation towards director Mahesh Bhatt for his significant impact on her career trajectory. She also shares an insight about performing bold scenes alongside Emraan Hashmi in Murder, stating that although it may have been initially awkward, Bhatt and Hashmi ensured her comfort, and all female cast members are secure on set.

During an interview with Hauterrfly, Mallika opened up about feeling secure and empowered while working on Mahesh Bhatt’s film sets. Looking back at her time filming the daring and intense scenes in Murder, she attributed the nurturing atmosphere created by Bhatt and her co-star Emraan Hashmi for helping her feel comfortable throughout the production process.

She expressed that every girl on his film set felt extremely secure. Despite performing daring scenes in Murder, she personally felt safe. Although it can be a bit awkward due to the presence of many crew members, both Bhatt sahab and Emraan Hashmi made her feel completely at ease. Emraan, in particular, was nothing short of a perfect gentleman.

Mallika pondered over the impact that Mahesh Bhatt, who guided her in the 2004 movie “Murder”, had on shaping her personally and professionally.

In my personal journey, I cannot overlook the significant part Bhatt played in empowering me to break free from traditional restrictions. To me, he was more than just a catalyst; he offered me the liberating space to flourish. His forward-thinking attitude, which extended to his own family, left an indelible mark on my life.

Reflecting on her professional journey within the field, Mallika talked about the hurdles she faced, noting that her bold choices weren’t universally embraced by the public as early as 2004.

In addition, she acknowledged another major factor that impacted her career – the legendary Jackie Chan. During their joint ventures on global initiatives, she praised him as both “extraordinary” and “encouraging.

In terms of her career, Mallika will appear next in the film “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” featuring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, which is set to premiere on October 1, 2024. This production also includes “Jigra,” a movie that stars Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina.
