However, veteran actress Anita Raj reached out to us for a heartfelt response to this tragic news.
Speaking solely to TopMob, Anita Raj shared her deep sadness over the demise of Manoj Kumar. She was fortunate enough to collaborate with this iconic movie maker, whose enduring impact on cinema will continue to be admired and honored.
She expressed her sympathies, saying, “I hope God gives them the resilience and bravery to endure such a heavy sorrow. Peace be with them.
Significantly, Anita Raj and Manoj Kumar acted together in the 1989 film titled “Clerk”. Not only did Kumar star in it, but he was also responsible for writing, directing, and producing the movie. Alongside them, Rekha, Mohammad, Prem Chopra, Shashi Kapoor, among others, played prominent roles.
Apart from our conversation, Aruna Irani, the seasoned actress, reminisced about her experiences collaborating with the late iconic actor. In our chat, she affectionately referred to him as a remarkable actor, director, and producer. She fondly recalled their work together on the 1967 film, Upkar, which was their first full-color production.

Today, I’m deeply saddened to share the news that Manoj Kumar, a legendary figure in our industry, left us at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital this morning on April 4, 2025. Tomorrow, April 5, his final journey will be honored and farewelled.
