Manoj Kumar Passes Away: Dharmendra calls late actor ‘jigri yaar’; Hema Malini, Sharmila Tagore and more share fond memories

The passing away of esteemed filmmaker Manoj Kumar has brought deep sorrow across Bollywood. Over time, his cinematic influence became a beacon for many and cemented him as a towering figure in Indian cinema. Simultaneously, contemporary actors like Sharmila Tagore, Hema Malini, Dharmendra, and Poonam Dhillon were moved to tears upon hearing the sad news, expressing their emotions accordingly.

Famous actor Dharmendra visited Manoj Kumar’s home to express his sympathies. Not long after, he was spotted leaving his house and speaking to the press, at which point he declared, “He was a very dear friend of mine.

Speaking with Filmfare, Sharmila Tagore reminisced about working alongside Kumar on the movie “Sawan Ki Ghata”. She recalled, “We filmed the movie in Ooty and created some lovely memories there. He was an exceptional director who made fantastic films. His impact on Hindi cinema is immense.

Beyond what’s already been said, Hema Malini additionally spoke to ANI and highlighted that all the films of the late renowned actor were patriotic in nature. She reminisced about his strong affinity towards the BJP party, a connection he maintained for a while. Unfortunately, due to health complications, he was unable to sustain his political involvement. In a nostalgic moment, Hema Malini recalled asking him why he wasn’t producing more films.

She mentioned that he often expressed, ‘I’ll take care of it. It’s unfortunate that he is no longer here. I cherish the wonderful moments we shared together. He had a unique talent for visualizing songs. In fact, we collaborated on four films: Sanyasi, 10 Numbri, Kranti, and Santosh,” she revealed.

She admired the late filmmaker’s movies like Puram Paschim that showcased the impact of Western culture. The seasoned actress commented that he served as a role model through his work, and his music is still valued during patriotic occasions today.
