Marcia Gay Harden Joins Robert Rippberger’s Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Renner’ (Exclusive)

As a long-time admirer of Marcia Gay Harden‘s mesmerizing acting prowess, I am beyond thrilled to see her lend her voice to the artificially intelligent companion in the upcoming sci-fi thriller ‘Renner’. With an impressive career spanning over three decades, Harden has proven time and again that she can bring depth and complexity to any role she takes on.

Academy Award-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden has joined the cast of Robert Rippberger’s upcoming sci-fi thriller titled Renner.

The actor famous for roles in both “Pollock” and “Mystic River” is part of a main group including Frankie Muniz, Violett Beane, and Taylor Gray. Harden will lend his voice to the character Salenus, an artificially intelligent sidekick created by the brilliant computer whiz, portrayed by Muniz.

In my gaming world, I find myself as Renner, who thoughtfully pursued my new neighbor Jamie (Beane) with the assistance of Salenus. However, I unwittingly coded my manipulative mom into the system instead. The movie titled Renner will be directed by Rippberg, a project he co-wrote with Martin Medina and Luke Medina. Interestingly, we all share producer credits along with Medina, KT Kent, Devin Keaton, and Jay Burnley of Slated.

“Rippberger expressed great respect by stating that it’s a privilege to have esteemed actress Marcia lend her voice to a technology transforming Hollywood. Just as there have always been prophets in society, AI represents another form of distraction from self-thought. However, Rippberger emphasizes the importance of maintaining the human touch that sets art apart and makes it unforgettable. Marcia’s artistic talent has added rich layers to the film’s themes,” he concluded.

Previously nominated for an Oscar for her role in ‘Mystic River’, Harden earned a second Academy Award nomination for her work on ‘The Morning Show’ on Apple TV+. She has also appeared alongside Skylar Astin in the CBS drama-comedy ‘So Help Me Todd’, as well as in the thriller ‘Knox Goes Away’, directed by Michael Keaton.

In the year 2001, Meryl Streep clinched her Best Supporting Actress Oscar for playing Lee Krasner in the film “Pollock,” a production helmed by and featuring Ed Harris as a fellow actor.

Harden’s representation includes CAA, Framework Entertainment, Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham, and The Initiative Group.
