Mariah Carey Hilariously Trolled People Who Are Already Hyped For Christmas, And I Can’t Get Over Her Fans’ Comments

As a gamer with over two decades of Christmas movie marathons under my belt and a love for all things festive that rivals even Santa Claus himself, I can confidently say that Mariah Carey‘s annual countdown to Christmas is not just an event, but a tradition. From the moment the first pumpkin spice latte hits my lips, I’m ready to embark on a joyous journey through snow-covered landscapes and twinkling lights, soundtracked by none other than the Queen of Christmas herself.

Yearly, as we near this season, a discussion arises regarding when it’s acceptable to immerse ourselves fully in holiday festivities. Should we wait till Hallowe’en fades before revisiting our favorite yuletide films? Delay decorating the tree until Thanksgiving is over? Postpone Christmas tunes until December? Seems like everyone has their own guidelines, but I reckon most of us can concur that there’s just one iconic figure who holds the key to flipping the switch on holiday mode – Mariah Carey – and boy, am I enjoying the enthusiasm from fans as she playfully teases us about getting our homes festively adorned early.

If you’re not listening to Mariah Carey sing “All I Want for Christmas Is You” on at least a daily basis during the holiday months, I’m afraid you’re doing it wrong. As soon as there’s the first hint of cooler weather and Pumpkin Spice Lattes, I’ve got my 2024 Christmas movie schedule out to plan my year-end viewing, and my finger is just hovering over the Play button of my Christmas playlist, waiting for Carey to give the signal. I’m not alone, either, as she posted an Instagram video trolling us with those oh-so-familiar opening notes:

The video shows Mariah Carey, presumably on her private jet, settling her brain for a long winter’s nap (even with her sunglasses still on her head), when the captain announces they’re ready to head to the North Pole. The singer then politely shouts to him, “Not yet! Sorry!” before turning back to the camera and saying:

They always rush me.

It’s just so hard to wait! Many fans expressed their excitement in the comments, saying they’re ready to kick off the most wonderful time of the year with the return of “All I Want for Christmas Is You” to the regular rotation. However, fans mostly agreed to be patient until the five-time Grammy Award winner says the time has come. They wrote:

  • We don’t move until the Queen of Christmas says it’s time for Christmas!!🎄😂❤️ – thomasadrianna1
  • Take your time, Queen. We are so ready for you! 💚👑 – yaamava
  • October is the new December Mariah!!! – hakui_jc
  • Nah go ahead and get there…I’m good skipping Halloween and Thanksgiving 🎄 – 90skid4lyfe
  • Merry ain’t Merry without Mariah! 🎄we ready for you! – mrsmnisi

On another occasion, Mariah Carey once again reminded us about patience. Back in 2021, she shared a video where her children interrupted her bath time to ask if it was already time to play Christmas songs and decorate the tree. Her message then, much like today, was clear: “Not just yet!

Many people believe that “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is the ultimate holiday song, and this is clear from how frequently it’s played on radio stations, stores, and every Christmas celebration throughout the season. However, since 2019, Mariah Carey has consistently held the top spot on the charts, but in 2023, Brenda Lee took over with “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.

Who do you think will wear the title of “Queen of Christmas” by the conclusion of this festive period? There’s still a bit more time until the competition can commence.
