Mario Kart World has been formally announced for Nintendo Switch 2. While it was initially hinted at with the unveiling of this console, the company chose to debut the game properly in the opening segment of their Direct presentation.
Following the releases of Mario Kart 7 and 8, it’s unexpected that the latest addition to the Mario Kart series would abandon numbers once more. However, boasting stunning visuals and a host of fresh characters, this installment promises to be exceptional. Generally speaking, each game in the Mario Kart franchise is highly praised, but fans are especially eager for an enjoyable experience with this new release.
In Mario Kart World, “The World” serves more than just a playful purpose; it’s inspired by real-world locations, lending a unique touch to its tracks. What sets this game apart is that these tracks undergo a transformation from day to night, adding an interesting layer not previously seen. Plus, players can now enjoy a leisurely drive around at their own pace in the newly introduced Free Mode, providing a perfect way to unwind before the next competitive round.
It’s apparent that this latest addition draws influences from both Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the mobile version, Mario Kart Tour. What’s surprising is its adoption of elements from Forza, a series typically independent in its racing style. However, these innovative features are sure to excite fans to no end.
The upcoming Mario Kart World game is slated to debut alongside the anticipated Switch 2 console, marking its release day together.
Fans will be able to buy a Switch 2 here.
