As a huge fan of Deadpool, I find the idea that he can actually die, yet still come back in some way or form, to be absolutely fascinating. In “Deadpool: The End,” we see him meet his demise at the hands of his own daughter, Ellie, who was forced into it by Wade’s actions. But even in death, Deadpool manages to cheat the system and ends up in the Realm of Death with Death herself.
Deadpool’s exceptional healing capabilities make him virtually indestructible within the Marvel Universe. Regardless of the circumstances – be it the adversary he encounters or the extent of harm inflicted upon him – this anti-hero has an impressive knack for bouncing back from even the most dire situations. Yet, determining whether Deadpool can ultimately meet his demise is a question that goes beyond a straightforward affirmative or negative response.
In the year 2020, Marvel released a series of comics depicting the final fates of various heroes. In “Captain Marvel: Last Stand,” Carol Danvers selflessly gives her life to rekindle a dying sun and save her companions. “Doctor Strange at the End of Time” sees Strange relinquishing his own existence, setting Ilyana Rasputin free and designating her as the new Sorcerer Supreme while continuing to reside within the Sanctum Santorum as a spectral being. In “Deadpool’s Final Mission,” Marvel explores Wade Wilson’s demise, which involves his offspring, Death, and even Mephisto.
Although Thanos inflicted Deadpool with the curse of immortality to keep him away from Death, a jealous move by the Mad Titan towards their unexpected connection, the unconventional hero ultimately meets his end in a poignant tale that soon turns explicit. Surprisingly, even being erased from existence almost entirely doesn’t necessarily mean Deadpool’s last stand.
What happens to Deadpool after he dies?
As a gamer immersed in the Marvel Universe, I find myself at the edge of reality in “Deadpool: The End.” With Death herself within my grasp, I contemplate taking her life to secure eternal existence. However, just as I’m about to strike, an unexpected adversary emerges from a Deadpool mech suit.
Deadpool is overcome with emotion when he discovers that he’ll eventually be able to pass away, more so since he’s with his daughter. Ellie swears that not a single particle will persist as they express their love and vanish into the infinite expanse of the cosmos.
Deadpool’s soul eventually regenerates, allowing him to confirm with Death that Ellie has found peace in the afterlife. He is granted eternal life in the Realm of the Dead, with Mephisto as a reluctant spectator. A past agreement comes to light, revealing that Deadpool had promised his soul to Mephisto if he didn’t take Ellie’s life. However, it turns out that Ellie’s death was more like an unfortunate consequence of Wade’s actions. Therefore, Deadpool is the one who took his own daughter’s life, making Mephisto powerless to claim his soul and relinquishing his title as the ruler of the Underworld to Deadpool. Even in death, Deadpool persists, now accompanied by Death.
Deadpool’s many happy endings
In the unconventional realm of Deadpool, even his demise refuses to conform to the ordinary. Consonant with this quirky trait, the final installment, “Deadpool: The End,” offers various conclusions in an interactive “Choose Your Own Adventure” finale.
In one scenario, Deadpool resides within the impenetrable Dead-Dome, a protective force field, living out a hedonistic existence filled with pleasures until his demise. In an alternate timeline, the Merc with a Mouth teams up with the Avengers and forms a romantic relationship with Captain Marvel. Simultaneously, in another reality, Deadpool dates Iceman. A third possibility presents Deadpool assuming the role of Captain Universe, revitalizing a darkened Marvel Universe. Lastly, in a humorous turn of events, Deadpool and Death lead an ordinary life in Hell, constantly bickering like an aging, discontented couple. All these outcomes reflect Wade Wilson’s signature humor and are viable options for his ultimate destiny.
Deadpool’s backstory and abilities have long been subjects of intrigue, with many questions raised regarding his origin, powers, and mortality. “Deadpool: The End” offers answers, yet maintains the enigmatic nature that has kept Deadpool alive through the years. Ultimately, Deadpool persists indefinitely, be it in his present guise or as a spirit ruling over the Underworld alongside Death. While Deadpool may succumb to death, rest assured that he won’t remain deceased for long.
