Although mutants might take center stage during Season 2’s Hellfire Gala, it doesn’t imply that non-mutant characters in the game won’t receive attention too.
Previously, NetEase announced that some cosmetics inspired by artist Peach Momoko would be released, and they’ve now unveiled one of the initial costumes for Peni Parker in the game, along with a fresh Marvel Cinematic Universe skin for the character Dr. Strange.
Yatsukahagi Peni Parker and MOM Doctor Strange
According to the recent update, you’ll find Yatsukahagi Peni Parker and Multiverse of Madness Doctor Strange arriving at the Marvel Rivals store on April 17. Make sure to take note!
Experience the control over disorder alongside Doctor Strange in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, and unite with the spider-like spirits known as tsuchigumo, guided by Peni Parker’s mystical Yatsukahagi! The slumbering giant stirs – and the multiverse fractures!
Initially examining Strange’s attire, it should be noted that he had multiple designs for Multiverse of Madness, but this particular one is modeled after ‘Zombie Strange’. This version represents the reanimated corpse of ‘Defender Strange’, a body reconstituted using Dark Magic. One striking feature of this ensemble is the cape, which appears to be fashioned entirely from demons. Additionally, the cowl encircles Strange’s head with numerous devilish hands, an eerie touch reminiscent of the creativity of Evil Dead director Sam Raimi, who also helmed MOM.
Regarding Peni’s skin, it belongs to a collection of legendary Japanese skins inspired by an alternative Marvel universe depicted in Peach Momoko’s “Demon Days.
Peach Momoko’s Demon Days
In simpler terms, “Demon Days” is one of the fresh Marvel Universe concepts by artist Peach Momoko, which was first released in 2021. This unique Marvel world features characters rooted in Japanese mythology.
In this series, the lead character is Sai, known as Psylocke. Throughout the narrative, she encounters different versions of characters such as Venom and Jubilee. Additionally, she has a canine friend named Logan, who possesses healing abilities. Given these details, one might wonder if that character could be Wolverine.
One of several Peach Momoko-designed characters, Peni, is set to join the game, alongside designs for The Punisher, Luna Snow, and Hela. Given the unique style, it’s likely that we’ll see more character reveals in the future, potentially depending on the success of this initial collection of skins.
On April 17th, new outfits will be released for characters Peni and Strange. The highly anticipated game “Marvel Rivals” is now playable on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers.
