After the premiere of “Thunderbolts”, Marvel Studios unveiled a fresh emblem for the upcoming “Avengers” film. With “Thunderbolts” preparing to hit theaters, fans speculated about the significance of the asterisk in the title. Following the movie’s conclusion, it was disclosed that the asterisk signified that the Thunderbolts team had transformed into the New Avengers.
After “Thunderbolts” has been screening in cinemas for close to a week now, Marvel Studios have chosen to unveil the significance of the asterisk appended to the movie title through various means. Since the asterisk symbolizes The New Avengers, viewers were given a sneak peek at the emblem for “The New Avengers”, marking it as the ninth official logo for the Avengers series from Marvel Studios.
The logo for the New Avengers bears a resemblance to previous Avengers logos, yet it has its unique twist. Of particular note is the return of the same font used in eight earlier logos, and also the inclusion of the distinctive “A” at the beginning of the word “Avengers,” as seen before.
Every Marvel Studios Avengers Logo
The Avengers
Initially, the iconic emblem of the Avengers debuted for the 2012 film that distinguished the Marvel Cinematic Universe from other comic book movie series. The original design was relatively simple, displaying only the phrase “The Avengers” in silver letters. This basic logo served as a model for almost every subsequent Avengers emblem in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Avengers: Age of Ultron
In their second joint movie against Ultron in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, set for release in 2026, the Avengers’ logo underwent a slight modification. Instead of silver letters, they switched to red this time around. Additionally, the word “the” was no longer included in the logo.
To begin with, this was the initial instance where a subtext was incorporated into the Avengers franchise logo. Specifically, it said “Age of Ultron” in a distinctive font.
Avengers: Infinity War
When the movie “Infinity War” arrived a few years following “Age of Ultron,” it introduced yet another logo. The design for “Avengers” remained largely unchanged, but the circle encompassing the “A” was slightly diminished in size compared to its previous iteration.
I must say, the logo transformation never ceases to amaze me! This time around, it’s been refined into a radiant gold-like hue that truly captures my attention. Much like the emblem for Age of Ultron, the words “Infinity War” have been given their own unique font style, adding an extra touch of sophistication and intrigue.
It’s noteworthy to mention that the Infinity War logo marked a shift in Marvel Studios’ design, where they added lines both above and below the subtitle for the first time. Interestingly, for a rare twist, the Marvel Studios logo was placed beneath the Avengers logo instead of its usual position.
Avengers: Endgame
In the latest Avengers movie, they revisited their origins by altering the logo’s central “A”. This time, the letters were purpled, subtly tinted with red at the base.
Like past iterations of the logo, the word “Endgame” was given a new font style.
Avengers: Doomsday
The logo for “Avengers: Doomsday” bears a resemblance to previous logos from the franchise, but it’s specifically designed to symbolize Doctor Doom. This is achieved through the use of silver text with a green border, as Doctor Doom plays a significant role in the movie.
The term “‘Doomsday’” is completely green too, and Marvel Studios opted to reuse the text above and below the title in this shade of green.
Avengers: Secret Wars
Although “Secret Wars” is yet a few years away from hitting the screens, Marvel Studios has already unveiled its logo. The design resembles that of other “Avengers” logos, with the color scheme being a tribute to the hues used in the original “Secret Wars” comic books (red and yellow).
As a die-hard movie buff, I must say, for the very first time, the Marvel Studios emblem underwent a color change, aligning with the hues of the Secret Wars logo rather than sticking to its usual red and white palette, as it traditionally has with all other logos.

Avengers: Damage Control
The “Avengers: Damage Control” video game preserves a logo design that aligns with the one seen in the Avengers movies, albeit with slight modifications such as color changes and pattern additions on the letters. Essentially, it retains its movie-like appearance.
Avengers: Quantum Encounter
The “Quantum Encounter” with the Avengers is a unique experience only available onboard the Disney Wish ship within the Disney Cruise Line. It has its distinct logo, and much like “Damage Control,” it shares similarities with other Avengers logos.
However, Quantum Encounter‘s logo does have a slightly different background.
The New Avengers
In contrast, the placement of the word “the” differs in the new logo compared to its original position. For instance, in the initial Avengers logo, the word “the” was enclosed within the letter “A.” In the updated version of The Avengers, however, the word “the” appears before the term “Avengers.”
I can’t help but notice that most of the Avengers logos are set against a pristine backdrop. However, what sets The New Avengers apart is its unique design. Instead of being neatly placed on a blank canvas, it appears as if a layer has been ripped away, unveiling The New Avengers beneath the original background. This is a nod to the Thunderbolts title, which has been symbolically and literally torn off.
On May 2, 2025, the movie titled “Thunderbolts” or alternatively recognized as “The New Avengers”, made its debut in cinemas. This production features an exceptional cast including Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, Lewis Pullman, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, and Hannah John-Kamen (discover what differentiates the New Avengers from their original counterparts here).
