David Henrie’s coming-of-age film will start streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime from July 1st, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Starring Mason Thames, Mel Gibson, Kevin James, Lorraine Bracco, and Patrick Renna, the movie was released in theaters last October for Halloween.

The story, Monster Summer, revolves around a band of companions joining forces with an ex-police detective, in an effort to protect their island from an enigmatic force lurking within it.>

Henry served as director for the movie, with the screenplay penned by Cornelius Ulian and Bryan Schulz. The producers of this film are Mark Fasano, James Henrie, John Blanford, and Dan McDonough.

Currently, Thames appears as the leading actor in Dean DeBlois’ live-action film adaptation of “How to Train Your Dragon,” which is playing in cinemas. He shares the screen with Nico Parker and Gerard Butler. Furthermore, you might recognize him from the 2022 release, “Black Phone.” Later this year, Thames will also be seen in the films “Black Phone 2” and “Regretting You.

Recently, Gibson has concluded directing the Lionsgate’s suspenseful film ‘Flight Risk’, starring Mark Wahlberg, and is currently gearing up for the production of the follow-up to ‘The Passion of the Christ’.

Back then, the 17-year-old actor expressed his enthusiasm for starring in another superhero movie, whether it’s a DC or Marvel production. He fondly recalled watching Marvel films with his father at the cinema as a child, and he finds that experience quite amazing. Hopefully, he might get a chance to be part of one someday.
