Massive 2,970-Piece Jango Fett Starship Lego Set Unveiled Exclusively!

As a child, Jackson Hughes received his initial Lego set, the Adventurer’s Scorpion Tracker, as a present from his best friend. However, even the kindest actions often have consequences, especially during the carefree era of childhood. A few years later, while playing at his friend’s house, Jackson accidentally knocked over the friend’s Lego starship modeled after Star Wars character Jango Fett from the top of a bookshelf. The impact reduced it to just a heap of Lego bricks, leaving his friend deeply upset.

As a Lego designer, Hughes had an unfortunate incident etched in his mind from his past. Over two decades on, he was given another opportunity to make amends, serving as the head of the team that created an expansive construction set depicting Jango Fett’s starship.

Once more, Lego is unveiling a set for everyone’s beloved galaxy far, far away on Tuesday, as part of their offerings for May the 4th celebration – an annual event filled with Star Wars merchandise. This announcement coincides with just a few days left before Star Wars Celebration begins in Tokyo from April 18 to April 20.

Belonging to the collection designed for older fans, the Lego Star Wars Jango Fett’s Firespray-class Starship is a 2,970-piece set that boasts an authentic interior design, a movable entrance, adjustable blasters and seismic charges. This set can be displayed either in landing mode or flight position, and comes with a stylish display stand.

Starting April 15, you can pre-order the new set that hits stores on May 1 for $299.99. When assembled, it stands 7.5 inches tall, measures 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide, amounting to approximately 19 cm x 44 cm x 39 cm. If you purchase this set within the initial five days and are a member of the Lego Insider program, you’ll receive a complimentary Lego Star Wars Jango Fett Starship Keychain as an added bonus!

In “Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones,” the movie where Jango Fett, the bounty hunter famously known for saying “I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe,” was introduced, we first saw the ship. This character served as the model for an entire clone trooper army and had Boba Fett, his very own clone, as his son.

Hughes and his team devoted six months to building their model. During the design stage, they utilized digital 3D renderings from ‘Attack of the Clones’ and photographs of actual props and movie sets, particularly for the intricate cockpit layout. The challenging curved structure of the spaceship also posed difficulties.

As a dedicated Lego enthusiast and ardent fan of Boba Fett, I’m thrilled to share that for the first time since 2002, Lego has rolled out a fresh take on the iconic Star Wars ship associated with Boba Fett. This new version boasts subtle modifications and a vibrant, distinct color scheme, making it a unique addition to any Star Wars Lego collection.

The updated collection includes four fresh components: a canopy, Fett’s helmet with built-in rangefinder, and two distinctly sized arrows. Notably, this model incorporates a Lego brick-constructed seismic charge, an exciting addition that Fett enthusiasts will appreciate as it’s the first of its kind.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled about the meticulous work that went into crafting this toy at the Ultimate Collector Series scale. This allows for an impressive level of detail and precision in the design. To give you an idea, the cockpit itself boasts two decks and no less than five seats – a feature never before seen in any Lego rendition of this spaceship!

At Star Wars Celebration, LEGO is set to make a substantial impact, boasting a 2,368 square foot booth brimming with exclusive encounters. This space will showcase the upcoming sets before their global release, transforming iconic movie moments into brick-built masterpieces for fans to enjoy and snap photos of. Additionally, attendees can look forward to unique giveaways, special announcements, and even a pop-up LEGO store! To top it off, members from the LEGO Star Wars design team will engage in Q&A sessions, offering an insider’s perspective on their work.

Hughes won’t be in attendance, but his old best friend remains on his mind.

He mentions that he intends to offer him the Starship of Jango Fett (UCS) as a belated compensation, which is two decades overdue,” he states.
