Having spent my afternoons captivated by reruns of He-Man and Masters of the Universe during childhood, I can’t help but feel thrilled or at least intrigued about the upcoming live-action Masters of the Universe film. This project has been in development for years, and now that principal photography on the movie is finished, it has reached a significant stage.
A number of actors from the Masters of the Universe series shared their excitement about finishing filming on social media, with Camila Mendes, who portrays Teela in the upcoming movie, marking the occasion by enjoying a burger and fries. While each person likely had their unique way of celebrating, it seems that Mendes chose to indulge in a tasty meal.

Mendes mentioned in her post that she has spent the last seven months “eating like an athlete,” and so it appears that she took the opportunity of being done filming to eat something that her trainer probably wouldn’t approve of. She’s far from the first who has had to remain in particular shape during a movie to celebrate by breaking the diet. Superman’s David Corenswet did the same thing.
Though Mendes posts several set photos, we’re yet to catch a glimpse of Teela’s appearance in the upcoming movie. Mendes emphasizes that there’s still not much that can be revealed about the film at this point. The photo of her eating a hamburger offers the best sneak peek into what seems like her costume. The gallery also includes a quick image of Mendes embracing someone who likely is Nicholas Galitzine, star of Masters of the Universe, as He-Man/Prince Adam; however, his face remains hidden in this snapshot.
It seems quite clear that Masters of the Universe isn’t quite ready to show us any of the cast in full costume yet. Galitzine himself posted his own Instagram image in celebration of the movie wrapping filming. It includes himself in full He-Man costume, but cloaked in enough shadow that we really can’t see anything clearly.

The film titled “Masters of the Universe” is set to release in June 2026, giving us all a glimpse into the live-action version of the animated characters that we’ve been eagerly waiting for. It has been more than three decades since we last saw a live-action movie from this franchise, with the 1987 film featuring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man being less than satisfactory for many fans.
After wrapping up filming for the movie, it’s expected that we won’t have a trailer anytime soon – likely several months from now. As for when we might officially unveil characters like He-Man, it’s anyone’s guess. Nevertheless, as we eagerly anticipate, fans are thrilled at the prospect of seeing He-Man back in live-action after such a long time.
