As for The Fantastic Four’s Johnny Storm, he loves using his powers the most, but he’s always chasing after something more, seeking what else is out there. Director Shakman mentioned that Quinn’s blend of cocky confidence and emotional vulnerability was crucial in creating a multi-dimensional character for the movie.

To me, he embodies a deep-rooted personality. The notion that he’s merely a ladies’ man or someone who thrives on social gatherings overlooks his true essence. Johnny Storm is far more than that. He is Sue’s brother, but his spirit yearns for the high life. Additionally, he’s an enthusiast of thrill-seeking activities. Indeed, he relishes flying. It’s safe to say that he’s the one who most appreciates his powers among all.

In the film, he’s not just any ordinary rock star; he’s a four-year veteran who’s been rocking the stage, yet now he’s pondering about other possibilities and fantasizing about unexplored opportunities.

In our mindset, we aspire for him to encompass all those qualities, yet I yearn for him to embody diversity. I recognized within Joe the blend of confidence, humor, and wit, but there was also a delicate softness and emotional openness that made his persona rich and complex.

Enthusiasts of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” have previously witnessed Human Torch’s fiery abilities in the movie, but Shakman’s remarks hint at the human struggles that Johnny will face in the film. With his notable role in “Stranger Things,” Quinn appears to be an ideal choice for this character, potentially marking another instance of spot-on casting akin to Downey Jr. and Tony Stark.

Many believe that Downey Jr.’s casting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a role that will always be hard to top, making it quite challenging for any potential successors to step into his shoes.

In essence, the resemblance between Johnny Storm and Tony Stark, coupled with Shakman’s comparison of Quinn’s acting to Downey Jr., suggests that the actor could be ideally suited for the role in the MCU. However, it was Tom Holland, who seemed to embody the “soul of the Marvel universe,” as described by Joe Russo, director of Avengers: Endgame, in a role that he previously filled.
