In preparation for the introduction of Marvel’s Original Family within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Vanessa Kirby hints at the arrival of the most formidable character in the narrative.
In an exclusive chat with Empire Magazine, actress Kirby candidly discussed her fondness for Sue Storm character and hinted at the central theme of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which will not only explore grown individuals wielding powers but may also allude to the emergence of Franklin Richards. Meanwhile, director Matt Shakman offered insights into Sue’s leadership within the Fantastic Four, describing her portrayal as follows:
Vanessa Kirby: I’m quite the enthusiast when it comes to Sue. I think I may have outsmarted everyone in that room with my knowledge. I delved deep into quantum physics and became quite engrossed. It’s a bit embarrassing how much I immersed myself in it. I could go on for hours about cellular vibration frequency. Even children can possess extraordinary abilities.
In a more simplified and conversational manner: Matt Shakman describes Sue as an inspiring, idealistic figure who embodies the spirit of the Fantastic Four. Essentially, she’s similar to the role of the United Nations’ Secretary-General in later comic book storylines.
