Today, we’re examining the acting path that includes working alongside stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Vicky Kaushal for our main focus. Originating as a young talent in the industry, she has graced numerous TV shows and digital productions throughout her career. Remarkably, this actress has spoken openly about her epilepsy diagnosis and her strategies for managing it.
The individual we’re discussing is none other than Fatima Sana Shaikh. She began her acting journey at the tender age of 4 with Kamal Haasan’s Chachi 420. Throughout her career, she has also appeared in films such as Ishq, Bade Dilwala, Khoobsurat, and One 2 Ka 4 as a child artist.
In 2016, Fatima had a major breakthrough in Bollywood when she starred alongside Aamir Khan in the film “Dangal,” which greatly boosted her fame. She portrayed the character of Geeta Phogat. Subsequently, she was featured in various films such as “Thugs of Hindostan,” “Ludo,” “Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari,” “Ajeeb Daastaans,” “Dhak Dhak,” and “Sam Bahadur” among others.
Beyond this, she has contributed to numerous television productions such as Noor Jahan (as a child artist) and Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo. Additionally, her notable online works encompass Modern Love Mumbai.
Apart from acting, Fatima’s social media posts also showcase her love for painting.
During an interview with Filmfare last year, Fatima shared her experience of being diagnosed with epilepsy during the filming of Dangal. Initially reluctant to acknowledge her neurological condition, she refused medication. She discussed the challenges she faced due to this disorder and admitted that it took years for her to accept and cope with it.
She mentioned that during a seizure, her assistant provides care and administers emergency treatment. Now, I don’t worry anymore about people seeing me have one, even though they might become frightened. However, I’m fine. It’s something I can’t control, so there’s no cause for embarrassment. On certain days, I’m unable to work due to a powerful migraine.
On her career side, Fatima’s upcoming projects involve working with Anurag Basu on Metro In Dino, alongside Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Triptathi, Konkona Sensharma, and others. The release date for this film has yet to be confirmed.
