Meghann Fahy Gets Threats to Kill Brandon Sklenar on Their First Date in ‘Drop’ Trailer

The recently unveiled trailer for the new thriller “Drop,” produced by Universal and Blumhouse, reveals a chilling tale of a first date that takes an eerie turn, featuring Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar.

In this movie, we see Fahy, known from “The White Lotus” and “The Perfect Couple”, playing Violet – a widowed mother attempting to re-enter the dating world after years. Her initial date is at an upscale restaurant with Sklenar’s character, Henry, who starred in “It Ends with Us” and “Yellowstone: 1923”. However, the evening takes a dark turn when Violet starts receiving threatening texts instructing her to murder her date; otherwise, her son will meet harm.

The summary for the movie goes like this: As Violet receives mysterious, threatening messages on her phone, her relationship with someone begins to sour. The anonymous sender warns her not to tell anyone or follow certain instructions, under the threat of harming her young son and babysitter. If she doesn’t comply, everyone dear to her will perish. Her hidden tormentor eventually commands her to kill Henry.

In this version of events, it’s Christopher Landon, known for movies like ‘Happy Death Day’, ‘Freaky’, and ‘Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones’, who takes charge as the director. Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach, both recognized from ‘Truth or Dare’ and ‘Fantasy Island’, are responsible for crafting the script. The talented trio of Violett Beane, Jacob Robinson, and Ed Weeks complete the cast ensemble.

The film, titled “Drop”, is being produced by Jason Blum, Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Cameron Fuller. Sam Lerner and Ron Lynch are acting as the executive producers for this project.

Universal’s Drop is set to release in theaters on April 11.
