Back in the early ’80s, if someone mentioned they were planning to attend concerts featuring Toto, Men At Work, and Christopher Cross, it would have been logical to conclude that these were separate performances. You might even wonder why the person enjoys Christopher Cross.
In the passage of time, Toto and Steely Dan have become essential figures within the emerging genre known as Yacht Rock. These artists, renowned for their soft rock tunes, enjoyed a string of hits, with Toto also achieving significant success from an exceptionally popular album. However, one might question the quality of their work, finding it to be merely average or “meh”.
On their current tour, Men At Work stands out among the three musical acts, being quite different from Toto and Cross. Unlike these two bands, Men At Work is not hard rock, but rather has a unique sound that’s more refined and complex, particularly showcased by Colin Hay’s contributions.
Men At Work, Christopher Cross and Toto might be the 2025 tour you don’t want to miss
Last week marked the kickoff of this incredible trio of artists’ tour, and I’m regretfully letting you know that I was part of the audience. Unfortunately, the tour hasn’t received the recognition it truly deserved in the media. But fear not! There are still plenty of opportunities for you to catch up on the excitement that you might have missed. Don’t let this chance slip away; make sure to grab your tickets and be a part of something extraordinary!
It’s worth mentioning that Toto seems to take center stage. In their first performance, Men At Work performed nine songs, Cross followed suit with nine, but Toto played an impressive 18. If you’re not a fan of Toto, you might want to consider an early departure. Here are the dates:
