How to Appraise Items
In Metaphor ReFantazio, assessing various items is made simple by seeking out certain dealers situated in the different towns. These merchants encompass General Stores, Blacksmiths, and Armor Shops. However, before you can start appraising items, you’ll first need to unlock this function by successfully finishing a particular quest.
Complete the Pagan’s Dilemma Quest
In order to activate the item appraisal function, you need to finish the “Pagan’s Dilemma” mission first. This mission can be found hidden in a narrow lane within the Grand Trad Royal Capital of Sunshade Row. Here, you’ll come across an NPC named Mustari Man, who wears a box on his head. Once you’ve progressed past the Prologue, he will give you the “Pagan’s Dilemma” quest.
In your current mission, you’ll need to grab a thing named “Breath of Fresh Air” from the local church and afterward, take it to Mustari Man. After successfully finishing this task, you’ll gain the power to evaluate items at any store within the town.
Visit a Vendor or Shop
To assess an item, look for a store in any town indicated on your mini-map using a potion bottle icon. One conveniently located store is Sunshade Row, specifically within Grand Trad, the Royal Capital. Upon entering a store, choose the ‘appraisal’ option from the menu to determine the value of your items.
Choose the Appraise Option
Upon entering a store, engage with the shopkeeper. Notice that there is an ‘Evaluate’ or ‘Appraisal’ feature available. Be aware that this action consumes in-game funds, so make sure your wallet is well-stocked if you intend to evaluate several items at once.
Select the Item for Appraisal
When you opt for the “appraisal” feature, you’ll be given the chance to pick the specific item you wish to assess. After making your choice, the store proprietor will magically convert the selected item into functional gear, which could be weapons, armor, or other useful accessories.
