- Metro Quester is Kemco’s latest upcoming mobile port
- From developer Thousand Games, it puts you in a post-apocalyptic future
- Explore dense dungeons of ancient metros and pre-apocalyptic ruins
Every time I discuss Kemco, I always find it delightfully consistent and easy to anticipate. Their international JRPG releases are generally top-notch, but they consistently strike those high-fantasy, emotionally charged chords. However, their forthcoming game Metro Quester intrigued me with its innovative twist on familiar conventions. It’s set for release on April 21st, and pre-registration is now available!
In Metro Quester, you will embark on an immersive role-playing game with an intriguing twist. Unlike other games where you explore above ground and then delve into ruins, this game places you in a post-apocalyptic world that’s eerily reminiscent of Glukhovky’s vision, but instead of traversing the wasteland, you’ll be navigating the long-forgotten metro tunnels of a past era underground.
Given the character designs are by Kazushi Hagiwara, known for series like “Bastard!! The Dark God of Destruction” and more renowned artists, it’s safe to anticipate an intricately detailed, possibly ominous and somber atmosphere you’ll delve into.
Kemco stands out
I was genuinely thrilled to find Metro Quester in my inbox. It seems poised to be a stellar addition to Kemco’s collection due to its blend of a dark setting with classic top-down dungeon exploration. Moreover, if you have any concerns about the game’s content, rest assured it offers 24 characters, 8 character classes, customizable weapons, a comprehensive bestiary, and much more audio content.
Without a doubt, Metro Quester retains the common anime aesthetic. Yet, I’m confident that most of you won’t find it problematic. If you’re seeking something fresh and unusual to fuel your JRPG cravings, be sure to watch for Metro Quester’s release on store shelves on April 21st!
