As a die-hard fan of Michael Jackson since my formative years, I can hardly contain my excitement over these two upcoming films! Lionsgate’s decision to release the much-anticipated Michael biopic “Michael” on October 3, 2025, has sent shivers down my spine. Jaafar Jackson stepping into his uncle’s iconic shoes? I’m all in!
Lionsgate is planning a busy fall of 2025, as it now has two top titles set for that stretch.
It’s been announced that the Michael Jackson biopic directed by Antoine Fuqua, titled “Michael”, will now be premiering in cinemas nationwide on October 3, 2025. This is a shift of six months from its originally scheduled release date of April 18, 2025.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that Jaafar Jackson, the nephew of the iconic pop legend, takes center stage in this production. Joining him is an impressive ensemble including Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo. The talented Steven Fuqua directs from a script penned by John Logan, with Graham King, John Branca, and John McClain serving as producers for this highly anticipated project.
Lionsgate has planned for a broad cinema release of their comedy “Good Fortune” on October 17, 2025. Aziz Ansari, who both writes and directs the film, is among the stars alongside Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, Sandra Oh, and Keanu Reeves. Additionally, Ansari, Anthony Katagas, and Alan Yang are producers of this production.
Luck be a Lady” revolves around an earnest yet somewhat oblivious angel (Reeves), who steps into the lives of a discontented freelancer (Ansari) and a thriving investor (Rogen).
At a Comic-Con panel held in San Diego during July, Fuqua provided updates on the movie titled “Michael“, mentioning that he was currently working on editing the film.
As a kid, Michael played a significant role in shaping who I am today, greatly impacting my journey as a gamer and professional. He’s not just an iconic artist to me, but a fellow traveler on life’s path. In this upcoming project, we delve deeper into his humanity. Honestly, I can’t wait to see where this exploration takes us!
Back in April, during CinemaCon, I got to see a sneak peek of the upcoming film Michael. There, director King shared some exciting news – the movie will feature a whopping 30 songs and will run for an extended period, all to ensure that Jackson’s incredible story is told in its entirety.
