Marcus Jordan, a well-known figure in media and sports (formerly a college basketball player), has been making news after a recent run-in with law enforcement. At the age of 34, he was taken into custody earlier this month for charges including DUI, drug possession, and resisting arrest. Following the event, Jordan pleaded not guilty and expressed gratitude to those who offered support. His father, the legendary Michael Jordan, has yet to comment on the situation. However, a source has since disclosed some insight into the elder Jordan’s emotions regarding this incident.
Based on the most recent news, it appears Michael Jordan is deeply distressed by his son Marcus’s legal issues, particularly because marijuana was discovered in his possession. An anonymous source informs RadarOnline.com that Jordan is extremely upset, to the point where he is reportedly “at wit’s end.” This distress supposedly stems from Jordan’s long-standing disapproval of drug use, an attitude that has been shaped by his experiences as a professional basketball player in the NBA.
It’s challenging for Mike to fully comprehend since cocaine was prevalent during his entry into the league, and he witnessed numerous players destroy their lives and careers due to it.
More on Marcus Jordan

After the split between Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan, an experienced NBA figure offers their perspective on why they believe her decision was ‘unwise’.
On February 4, Marcus Jordan was taken into custody in Orange County, Florida after parking his SUV (with visible bumper damage) on railroad tracks. According to local law enforcement, Jordan appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and subsequently failed three roadside sobriety tests. As shown on body camera footage, Jordan reportedly attempted to inform the officers about his famous father’s identity. He was charged with driving under the influence causing property damage, possession of cocaine, and resisting an officer without using violence. Later in the day, he was released from custody after posting a $4,000 bond.
This week, TMZ Sports announced that the substance found on the former podcaster was actually ketamine, which played a part in Matthew Perry’s death in 2023. This new discovery might make a difference for the former athlete’s case, as ketamine is categorized as a Schedule III drug in Florida, whereas cocaine falls under Schedule II.
Michael Jordan’s reported thoughts should be viewed with some skepticism, but it’s true that he was associated with drugs during his time in the NBA. In the documentary series The Last Dance, which can be streamed on Netflix, Jordan discussed this issue when asked about the Bulls being labeled as a “traveling cocaine circus” around the time he was drafted. Specifically, Jordan remembered walking into a room filled with players using drugs, marijuana, and women. He decided to leave the situation because he didn’t want to be implicated if the authorities were called.
In terms of the younger Jordan, he’s been in the spotlight due to his romantic involvement with Larsa Pippen, which lasted from 2022 to 2024. They were even seen on the popular reality TV show The Traitors, where they secretly corresponded during production. During their relationship, Michael made headlines for seemingly criticizing it, but Marcus later explained that his father was actually joking when a journalist asked him about it.
At present, Florida officials haven’t given any additional details regarding Marcus Jordan’s DUI case. Regarding his personal discussions with Michael Jordan about the arrest, we can only guess what might have transpired between them.
