Following the release of his new book about President Donald Trump, writer Michael Wolff has decided to delve into his recurring topic again, but this time in a documentary style.
Sky has revealed that author Wolff is involved in their upcoming documentary titled “Rewriting Trump“, which will trace the controversial businessman’s journey back to the White House. This will be achieved through the perspective of the authors of books like “Fire and Fury“, “Siege“, “Landslide” and “All or Nothing“. Sky, which is owned by Comcast, describes the documentary, filmed in 2024, as one that “depicts the US president’s surprising return from exile at disgraced Mar-a-Lago to his seat in the Oval Office.
Under the joint leadership of Yasmine Permaul and Arthur Cary, this documentary is set to shine light on key figures involved in the 2024 presidential race. These include Donald Trump Jr., Chris LaCivita, and Jason Miller, advisors for Trump’s campaign, as well as Stormy Daniels and others. The film will delve into significant events shaping the election, such as the attempted assassination of Trump near Butler, Pennsylvania, the debate over Joe Biden’s mental fitness after the June 27 presidential debate, and Kamala Harris’ emergence as a prominent Democratic candidate.
The film premieres on Sky Documentaries at 9 p.m. and on NOW TV on March 4 in the U.K.
James Marsh, known for films like ‘Man on Wire’ and ‘The Theory of Everything’, describes last year’s election campaign as unprecedentedly thrilling and unforeseeable in a statement. He explains that the movie offers a detailed and humorous perspective from Michael Wolff, who was present throughout the events. The film not only recreates the dramatic twists and turns, but also portrays Wolff, a sharp, challenging, and often amusing author, struggling to maintain objectivity as he documents these extraordinary times. Marsh refers to this tale as the most significant story of the 21st century, presented with enthusiasm, humor, and at times, chilling clarity.
The latest publication by author Michael Wolff, titled “All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America“, has been making waves in the news for its revelations about Melania Trump’s personal life with her husband and an assertion that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner declined to endorse the book. The president, who has previously criticized Wolff, recently labeled the book as “a complete fabrication” on social media. On Wednesday, Trump also hinted at legal action against authors who rely on unnamed sources in their reporting about him.
Created by Sky Studios, the series titled “Rewriting Trump” is overseen by Marsh and Sky Studios’ Jonathan Parker in their executive roles.
