  • The Fondazione Milano Cortina has revealed 5 posters for the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Approaching the Milano Cortina 2026 Games, a fresh group of Italian artists are continuing a time-honored tradition with their unique interpretations. The Triennale Milano and Fondazione Milano Cortina have revealed the artistic posters for the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in January. Led by Damiano Gullì and the international Olympic and Paralympic committees, this project invited 10 young artists to re-envision these events using the lens of contemporary Italian art, resulting in a diverse collection of gouache, acrylic, digital, and mixed-media works.

2021’s Olympic poster artists consist exclusively of women, including Beatrice Alici, Martina Cassatella, Giorgia Garzilli, Maddalena Tesser, and Flaminia Veronesi. From Garzilli’s colorful depiction of Olympic rings made from gelato to Alici’s serene snowy landscape for skiing and Cassatella’s torch held in a fiery hand, each artwork presents a lively interpretation of both competition and camaraderie, utilizing themes like mythology, happiness, and ecstasy.

As a passionate admirer, I’d express it like this: The Paralympic series steers the spotlight towards strength, resilience, and unity. Masterpieces by Roberto De Pinto, Andrea Fontanari, Aronne Pleuteri, Clara Woods, and Giulia Mangoni honor human bonding, adaptive prowess, and emotional victories, beautifully depicted through vibrant hues, poignant textual elements, and nostalgic remembrance of the touching moment between Braima Suncar Dabo and Jonathan Busby at the 2019 Doha World Championships.

Since the year 1972, Olympic art posters have been symbolic representations of the Games’ triumphant spirit, showcasing iconic figures from the arts world such as Andy Warhol, David Hockney, and even Hirohiko Araki of “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure” for the Tokyo Games in 2020. Now, it’s our turn, a new wave of artists, to keep that torch burning brightly.

The ten posters, along with the authentic torches for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics, are now available for viewing at Piano Parco Galleries until March 15, 2026. For further details about their designs, please visit the official Games’ website.
