MillerKnoll Opens the Doors to its First-Ever London Location

As a design enthusiast with a penchant for all things modern and timeless, I must say that the opening of MillerKnoll‘s London outpost has truly set my heart ablaze! After years of admiring their exquisite creations from afar, it’s a dream come true to witness such a remarkable collection under one roof.

It wasn’t until recently that MillerKnoll didn’t have a presence in London, but this absence is now being addressed as a key part of their brand strategy, which encompasses companies such as HAY, Muuto, and Herman Miller. In just four years, we’ve created more showrooms than Knoll managed in two decades, according to Jonathan Olivares, who has been the SVP of Design at Knoll since 2022, another brand under the MillerKnoll umbrella.

Now, they have established a permanent residence in London’s Clerkenwell neighborhood, specifically inside a 1960s modernist building known as “The Sans”. This impressive structure spans across three floors and houses distinct showrooms and retail areas for Knoll, Herman Miller, and Maharam. The historical St Johns Gate can be admired through the expansive windows that allow ample natural light to fill the space.

Andi Owen, CEO of MillerKnoll, expressed great enthusiasm about this significant achievement for their team, stating, “This is an exhilarating milestone for us! We’re ecstatic to display our extensive design collection in such a creative and cutting-edge setting in London.” One of the key advantages of the new location, as Owen points out, is its close proximity to other independent MillerKnoll stores. “We’ve decided to place our brands near each other, inspired by feedback from design collaborators, dealers, and customers. We eagerly anticipate the collaboration these spaces will foster as we strive to redefine modern design,” she concludes.

At the outset, MillerKnoll utilized this occasion to display their latest offerings along with recently revived items – ranging from Gabriel Tan’s Luva sofa to the renowned Tugendhat Chair. In our contract areas, designs are tailored with the London customer in focus, incorporating space-efficient solutions and open-concept layouts.

Public is welcome to visit the retail spaces, which will become active during this year’s London Design Festival. For details on operating hours, please click here.
