MINI Launches Two New John Cooper Works Models

As a longtime MINI enthusiast who’s had the pleasure of zipping around town in my classic John Cooper Works hatchback, I must say, the all-new JCW Electric has me absolutely buzzing! The fusion of MINI’s iconic design with electrifying power and performance is nothing short of a dream come true for petrolheads like myself.

At the 2024 Paris Motor Show, MINI has revealed the brand new John Cooper Works Electric (JCW-E), marking a substantial move in their dedication to electrification. This all-electric vehicle represents MINI’s performance models entering the electric era, boasting up to 190 kW or 258 horsepower and enhanced aerodynamics for improved performance.

The MINI JCW Electric accelerates from zero to sixty miles per hour in just 5.9 seconds and boasts a top speed of 125 mph, all while delivering 258 pound-feet of torque. Its powerful 54.2 kWh battery enables a drive range of up to 230 miles, as determined by the WLTP test procedure, providing an extended journey without emissions.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’d say: “Stepping into the driver’s seat feels like jumping into my favorite racing game! The MINI’s engineers have tapped into their motorsport spirit, offering features such as a race-inspired suspension, an electric boost for extra power when needed, and a thrilling ‘go-kart mode’ I can activate at will. The design is aerodynamically optimized, with sleek 18-inch wheels, and the unique red, white, and black color scheme is a nod to MINI’s legendary racing past.

As Stefan Richmann, the man in charge at MINI, I’m proud to say that we’re all about marrying the classic charm of our brand with cutting-edge tech. We’re on a mission to craft an extraordinary ride like no other!

Alongside the JCW Electric model, MINI has also introduced the JCW Aceman. This new model shares comparable performance abilities, however, it takes slightly longer (6.4 seconds) to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph. The JCW Aceman boasts a driving range of up to 220 miles and offers increased space for passengers and cargo compared to its counterpart.

At the time of writing, specifics on price and availability have not yet been shared.
