Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’s Teaser Has Two Huge Franchise Callbacks That Have Officially Blown My Mind

As a lifelong fan who has watched every Mission: Impossible film at least a dozen times each, I can confidently say that the latest news about Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning has me more excited than ever!

Even though I haven’t been overly enthusiastic about Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, I’ve been eagerly anticipating any tidbits of information about the 2025 movie that continues the story from where the last film ended. As expected, rumors were correct, as the first glimpse at Tom Cruise’s next potential box office hit has been unveiled to the public, and we now have a confirmed title for Mission: Impossible 8.

In addition to discovering that his upcoming film is actually named “Mission: Impossible – The Last Call,” there are two massive references to the franchise that have left me utterly astounded. So please check out the trailer above, and then let’s delve into the intriguing details about this mission that the IMF wants us to explore.

Angela Bassett Is Back As President Erika Sloane?

I found one scene incredibly thrilling – learning that Angela Bassett will indeed feature in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Although her role in the original Dead Reckoning didn’t pan out, it appears that speculation regarding the Mission: Impossible 7 easter egg was spot on.

The Rabbit’s Foot Returns For Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

It seems my recollection of the IMF’s records might be hazy, but I suspect we’ve witnessed a reappearance of the gadget from “Mission: Impossible III” in the series. Since we remain unaware of the function of the Rabbit’s Foot, this could potentially provide an answer to one of the most intriguing mysteries that has been floating around.

As these thrilling twists unfold, I’m beginning to believe that this truly is an adventure worthy of its title. The next installment of “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” will hit theaters on May 23, 2025, asking us once more to place our trust in Ethan Hunt.

More to come…
