Today marks the live release of the free title update for Monster Hunter Wilds, bringing more than just Mizutsune into the fray. One intriguing Side Mission is called “The Apple of Her Eye,” where players must find Alma’s lost glasses. This walkthrough will show you where to pick it up, a step-by-step guide to completing it, and how to personalize Alma’s spectacles using the Strategist spectacles you can unlock in MH Wilds.

Where to unlock the Monster Hunter Wilds The Apple of Her Eye quest

After applying Title Update 1 to the game, engage in conversation with Alma. She laments about misplacing her spectacles. She expresses a wish for them to eventually be displayed in a museum someday.

Where is the Wudwud who has seen Alma’s glasses?

Initially, you should identify the character named Wudwud who has supposedly come across Alma’s glasses. There isn’t any guidepost or hint, so it might seem puzzling. To get to Wudwud, head towards his hideout and engage Thunk in conversation as indicated below. He will bring up “forgotten items” (in red text), which should help you complete the quest successfully.

  • Talk to Alma to accept the quest.
  • Find a Wudwud who’s seen Alma’s glasses – This is Thunk as explained above.
  • Search downriver for the glasses – For this step, you need to follow the yellow quest marker in the Scarlet Forest and talk to multiple Wudwuds. Even though the quest marker might point to the ground, talk to all the Wudwuds here and go through the text.
  • Head to the Wudwud Hideout.
  • Speak with the Wudwud by the entrance.
  • Get info from the feasting Wudwuds – For this step, you need to rest until Nighttime and the Plenty so the Wudwuds are feasting. They are feasting above the Wudwud hideout. If you can’t find the vines to climb up, open your map and set a marker on the many yellow exclamation marks on the map. Talk to all the Wudwuds here. You don’t need to talk to all of them for this quest, but many trade with you. You will be told that there is a Wudwud wearing “red sparkles”. These are Alma’s Strategist spectacles. 
  • Search for the sleeping Ayejack – Ayejack is sleeping in the Wudwud hideout. You need to walk inside it and look at the various cocoon-like objects hanging in the main area. One of these has Ayejack sleeping within. Talk to Ayejack. They will ask you for Eastern Honey.
  • Deliver Eastern Honey to Ayejack.
