In the world of Monster Hunter, as you progress, another enticing endgame weapon to strive for emerges. Specifically in Monster Hunter World, Artian weapons have become the latest challenge. These weapons are certainly worth pursuing, and I will guide you through the process.
Artian Materials
As you advance in the primary tale, you’ll come across monsters that have been tempered. You’ll recognize these by the purple border around their icon, and Alma will make comments about their scars when you engage in combat with them.
Occasionally, tamed beasts may reward you with a unique item class named Artifact Materials (refer to the map to discover which beasts will drop these). Artifact Materials are categorized into three levels: Commonly Damaged (Rarity 5), Partially Rusted (Rarity 6), and Ancient (Rarity 7).
After finishing a quest where these materials are obtained as rewards, they will be labeled on the screen following the quest completion, along with decorative items. Notably, their true rarity surpasses the initial identified version.
As a seasoned gamer, I’ve come to realize that there are diverse materials scattered across the game world, each with its unique properties. These materials, when combined in specific ways, can be used to create an array of powerful weapons to aid me in my quest.
Crafting Materials Needed Per Weapon
- Great Sword – 2 Blades, 1 Tube
- Long Sword – 1 Blade, 2 Tubes
- Sword and Shield – 1 Blade, 1 Tube, 1 Disc
- Dual Blades – 2 Blades, 1 Disc
- Hammer – 2 Discs, 1 Tube
- Hunting Horn – 1 Disc, 2 Devices
- Lance – 1 Blade, 2 Discs
- Gunlance – 2 Discs, 1 Device
- Switch Axe – 2 Blades, 1 Device
- Charge Blade – 1 Blade, 1 Disc, 1 Device
- Insect Glaive – 1 Blade, 1 Tube, 1 Device
- Light Bowgun – 1 Tube, 2 Devices
- Heavy Bowgun – 1 Disc, 1 Tube, 1 Device
- Bow – 2 Tubes, 1 Device
To create a final weapon, you should select three materials that share the same level of rarity. These materials can either enhance the Attack or Critical Rate (affinity) of your end product. Importantly, all three materials must have the same elemental type for the resulting weapon to inherit that attribute. If not, the weapon will lack an element, which is generally ineffective for Artian weapons as they don’t receive additional attack power from the absence of an element. In simpler terms, ensure your materials are all of the same rarity, have the same element, and use them strategically to boost either Attack or Critical Rate while crafting your Artian weapon.
Reinforcing Artian Weapons
In the game “Monster Hunter World”, you can enhance Artian weapons even more after they have been created. This process is overseen by Gemma, but she needs a specific resource for upgrades which aren’t commonly acquired through quests or trading. However, there’s an efficient method to produce these materials at a quicker pace.
Make your way to Azuz, located within the Oilwell Basin, and chat with Roqul. You may use extra monster remnants you possess to have him craft the unique ore necessary for upgrades through the smelting process.
Artian weapons allow for upgrading a total of five times, with each upgrade bestowing one of four possible enhancements: an attack boost, affinity improvement, elemental advantage, and either sharpness (for melee) or capacity (for ranged).
This way, it’s more straightforward to understand the benefits associated with upgrading Artian weapons.
If you’re not satisfied with the improvements your weapon has received, you have the option to break down the weapon again, which will return the upgrade points to you. However, please note that you’ll forfeit the original resources used in its creation.
Farming Artian Weapon Parts
In most cases, tamed beasts will yield some Artian weapon components, but for a larger quantity, it’s advisable to wait for the additional gameplay. During this phase, you may create missions involving multiple monsters. Particularly challenging 7-8 star investigations with tempered beasts might reward 10 to 20 Ancient materials simultaneously, and if you’re also gathering Grade 3 decorations, they could also appear.
If you find yourself with excess Artian materials that you don’t require, consider taking a trip to Vio in Suja to transform them into something new.
