Monster Hunter Wilds Gets Live-Action Trailer Ahead of Launch

As we draw nearer to the launch of Monster Hunter Rise, scheduled for February 28 alongside the release of PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, Capcom has unveiled a fresh live-action trailer for the game. The clip offers glimpses of in-game hunts as well as real players engaging in epic battles against colossal monsters. Don’t miss it below!

The recently released trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds doesn’t unveil any fresh information, but it offers an enticing glimpse into some of the game’s diverse monster lineup, including new characters like Lala Barina and familiar faces such as Nerscylla. Additionally, it highlights the delicate equilibrium among monsters, humans, and hunters, which is a central theme in the game.

This aligns with statements made by director Yuya Tokuda about the game’s narrative earlier this month. He noted that the story draws inspiration from the dynamic between humans, nature, and monsters, as well as questioning the true purpose of a hunter in such a world.

He expressed that not only the gameplay, but also a profound narrative, was intended to convey the message. Additionally, there are numerous other elements in store for the future that align with the Monster Hunter Wilds concept, and he is confident that this game effectively communicated what they aimed to express through it.

Alternatively, those who wish to dive straight into battling huge monsters without being bothered by the game’s narrative can choose to bypass the cutscenes and dialogues. Keep in mind that this approach might result in missing out on the game’s character developments and overall plot.

In this world, there are diverse individuals such as Nata, who suffered the loss of his hometown due to a monster, and Olivia, who aims to make amends. Our goal was not only to depict the coexistence of people with varying viewpoints but also to explore the emotions and thoughts of hunters in a world like this. Each individual is unique, so we incorporated elements that reflect these differences into Monster Hunter Wilds.

Following the pattern set by Monster Hunter: World, Capcom has announced that the game Wilds will receive additional support after its launch. This support will come in the form of updates, which will introduce fresh content to the game. The first of these updates is planned for release during Spring and will feature Mizutsune as a new monster, along with other exciting content such as Event Quests.

In its debut, “Monster Hunter Wilds” promises a mix of fresh and familiar foes. Among the newcomers are the Chatacabra, Doshugama, Nur Udra, and Akrveld. On the other side, veterans of the Monster Hunter series will delight in the return of monsters like Yian Kut-Ku, Congalala, Nerscylla, and Gypceros. Notably, franchise icons Rathalos and Rathian are also included in the lineup for “Wilds”.
