The three-month-old game, Monster Hunter Wilds, has left its fans yearning for additional content. Unfortunately, this past month has seen a decrease in player engagement, which seems to be related to the absence of substantial post-launch updates aimed at the endgame.
It appears that an exciting collaboration is on the horizon for Monster Hunter Wilds, potentially arriving together with Update 1.5. As hinted in a recent social media post, this game’s first collaboration event will reportedly be with Street Fighter 6. The announcement was made using a Palico paw print and Street Fighter 6’s distinctive graffiti style.
Without any formal announcements as of now, fans are already brainstorming possibilities. It’s likely we could get a new line of Layered Armors for our Hunters, maybe a similar Akuma skin like in past Monster Hunter games, or new gear designed after Chun-Li or another character not featured in previous collaborations.
In the game Monster Hunter Wilds, Layered Weapons aren’t available yet. However, it’s possible that the Street Fighter 6 collaboration could coincide with Title Update 1.5, an update anticipated to bring 8-Star Hunts and introduce Layered Weapons for the very first time.
This collaboration could be exactly what the game is missing at this point. Players are feeling a bit stale due to the lack of new content, and until Title Update 1.5 or possibly even Title Update 2 featuring Lagiacrus, Monster Hunter Wilds might experience a decrease in active players on Steam. However, it’s important to note that fluctuating player numbers have always been characteristic of this series.
The exact launch date for the Street Fighter 6 Collaboration Event remains undisclosed as of now, but given Capcom’s hints, we might expect its arrival around mid-June.
