In many Monster Hunter games, you’ll encounter friendly and endearing creatures known as Palicoes. These loyal companions return in Monster Hunter Rise, ready to lend a hand to players by providing assistance in numerous ways.
They act as your partner and can join you in the quests and exploration. They have their own equipment sets that come with unique effects and various skills to let you focus on dealing damage to the monsters. Some of these skills or support moves include the Vigorwasp Revival and in this guide, the Plunderang.

What is the Plunderang Skill?
With the Palico Plunderang support move, the Felyne throws a boomerang that will steal items from the monsters for you. This allows you to have additional materials in case you need them for crafting the armor and weapons you want.
In case you’re running low on materials, meet the Plunderang! This handy boomerang allows me to grab materials directly from monsters.
How to get the Plunderang Skill
To get the Plunderang ability, first make sure that you’ve advanced far enough in the game to reach Chapter 4. After that, complete a special mission called “Purrfect Plundering.” Once you have finished this quest, the Plunderang move will be added to your arsenal.
To get this quest, you will need to talk to your Palico in any of the base camps. They are usually found standing near your tent, but if you are in a new area, you will just need to wait for them to reach their destination. They are also seen on the map as a green dot, should you need that little indicator to help you.
You may then speak to Alma, also known as the Handler, then accept the Optional Quest “Purrfect Plundering.” The mission description states: “This time I want you to help me hunt that Guardian Ebony Odogaron! The Guild just posted a quest for it. It’s the perfect opportunity to try out my new support move!”
In this quest, you will need to be HR 21 or higher and allow up to two players. If you wish to get a friend to help you but are lost with Monster Hunter Wilds’ co-op system, make sure to follow our guide which explains link parties and other multiplayer settings.
The fail conditions include time expiration (the time limit is 50 minutes) and fainting three times, so make sure you are geared up with the best equipment you can get your hands on. By this time, you may already have the Armorcharm, so place it in your item pouch before the hunt!
After successfully defeating the Guardian Ebony Odogaron, you must talk to your Palico again by the tent to complete the quest and receive the new Felyne skill Plunderang. Now you can let your Palico get more materials for you on the side.
