Regrettably, it wasn’t present in the main game at first, causing quite a stir among players. However, with new information emerging, it seems that Lagiacrus might not be just a myth in Wilds after all. In fact, the developers have hinted at its existence in their recent showcase and have even offered a tentative schedule for when we can expect to hunt this monster.
In March 2025, the Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase unveiled fresh details about Mizutsune and other updates, but it also shared some exciting extra tidbits. The recognizable roar and sharp talons of Lagiacrus were spotted, hinting that its debut in Monster Hunter Wilds might happen earlier than anticipated. Although the sea wyvern Lagiacrus wasn’t directly displayed, even a brief sound and visual hint was enough to stir up fan anticipation. The Lagiacrus is well-loved by many fans, and they won’t fail to identify it when seen.
The bubbling and gurgling sound of water, accompanied by a sharp screech, along with its distinctive paw and claw color – it was impossible to mistake. Any seasoned hunter would instantly recognize it from past encounters. Essentially, Capcom has confirmed that Lagiacrus will indeed make its appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds, and within a few months too.
Capcom has revealed that they’re planning to launch Title Update 2 for their game in the summer of 2025, and this update will introduce a new monster – Lagiacrus, which hasn’t been fully disclosed yet.
