Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 is out April 4 and looks stacked: Zoh Shia returns, the Grand Hub adds a social space, plus Arch-Tempered Rey Dau, arena speedrun contests, and Mizutsune

As a passionate fan, I can’t contain my excitement as I share the news about Monster Hunter Rise’s first free update, Title Update 1, landing on April 4! Two fearsome monsters will be immediately available for hunt, while another one waits in the wings. In between, there are numerous quests and enticing features to explore!

The upcoming update features Mizutsune, the lively leviathan from Monster Hunter Rise, and a regular huntable version of Wilds’ final boss, Zoh Shia. You can now battle Zoh Shia multiple times to collect a brand new, breathtakingly beautiful set of angelic armor. Preliminary observations indicate that Mizutsune might have adopted some moves from its Soulseer form. Even as a standard quest target, Zoh Shia exudes the same ferocity as Jin Dahaad. Mizutsune can be encountered at Hunter Rank 21, while Zoh Shia is only accessible at HR 50.

In the unveiling of the Grand Hub, a modernized multiplayer social area taking over where the old guild halls once stood, Mizutsune and Zoh Shia are set to make an appearance (and reappear), offering players a long-awaited venue for socializing that doesn’t give off the makeshift emergency vibe.

In a press statement, Capcom describes The Grand Hub as “an expansive social area where hunters can interact through various activities, like playing the innovative Barrell Bowling mini-game to win valuable rewards and trinkets.” Additionally, hunters can gather here to witness Suja village’s customs, such as the nightly performance by the Diva.

As a gamer, I hit Hunter Rank 16 and had a chat with Tetsuzan in Suja. That’s when the Grand Hub opened up, shifting the Squad Information Counter from the Windward Plains to this central hub. Now it’s super easy to manage my squad right in the heart of the community area. Plus, the entrance to the Grand Hub showcases the Expedition Record Board, where they display the fastest global clear times for the new Arena Quests and limited bounties tied to those quests.

In these arena challenges, players are tasked to vanquish particular monsters at record-breaking speeds. The swiftest victories grant access to unique charms, while the quickest conquerors worldwide secure a place on global rankings associated with premium, exclusive in-game aesthetics.

Regarding Title Update 1: It brings in a fresh batch of free and paid emotes and extras such as returning gestures and an optional new Alma design. From April 22 to May 6, participate in the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance event, where you’ll find seasonal decorations, activities, and quests, many of which are limited-time and revive past event quests.

From April 29 until May 20, you can obtain Arch-Tempered Rey Dau through an event quest. This new armor set is up for grabs! Arch-Tempered monsters possess higher health and inflict greater damage compared to Tempered monsters. It’s fitting that our first Apex predator, Rey Dau, increases the challenge in Wilds by raising the difficulty bar even higher. You can access AT Rey Dau once you reach HR 50.

At the end of their TU1 showcase, Capcom hinted at the upcoming Title Update 2, scheduled for release this summer. This update will coincide with an unannounced collaboration project from Capcom, and it has been confirmed that the popular monster Lagiacrus, last seen in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate in 2018, will make a return.
