Monster Hunter Wilds update coming “early April” will crank up the difficulty and add a new place to hang out with other players, addressing 2 big concerns

As a diehard gamer eagerly awaiting the release of Monster Hunter Wilds, I can hardly contain my excitement now that Capcom has given us a sneak peek into the game’s first free post-launch Title Update! This much-anticipated update is set to address two major issues highlighted in reviews while also introducing some fresh monsters in “early April.” Can’t wait to dive back in and experience the improvements for myself!

Previously, we discovered that Title Update 1 would introduce the beloved monster Mizutsune (commonly adored by fans). In a recent content disclosure, Capcom hints that “Title Update 1 will include a monstrous entity of exceptional power, surpassing Tempered monsters.” It’s not certain if Mizutsune is the mentioned creature, but the enigmatic nature of the announcement implies that this new colossal monster could be an entirely different creature. Capcom further teases, “Another formidable monster will also be waiting for you!

Put differently, TU1 (Trial Unit 1) is expected to introduce at least two new creatures – one being Mizutsune, while the other will surpass the challenge level of Tempered monsters, which are known for their increased health and damage potential. It’s intriguing to speculate whether this might lead to a surprising turn in the form of a Soulseer Mizutsune.

In Monster Hunter World, they introduced enhanced versions of the Arch-tempered monsters. Since Wilds seems to follow closely in the footsteps of World, it’s quite possible that we’ll see something similar here, even if this level of monster goes by a different name. These Tempered monsters provide the best decorations in Monster Hunter Wilds, so this new, super-Tempered addition could also bring a higher tier of loot.

The situation arises as fans of Monster Hunter express concerns about Monster Hunter Wilds being too simplistic, based on certain reviews. After investing nearly 50 hours into the game myself, I don’t find it to be a major issue, but it’s satisfying to notice quick updates addressing hardcore players’ desire for a challenge. As mentioned in our review of Monster Hunter Wilds, this title has already become my top pick in the series.

This update introduces a new centralized location where players can gather, chat, dine, and hunt together more easily with fellow hunters. This seems to address issues related to Monster Hunter World’s social features being spread out across various base camps without a central hub. Capcom notes that this area will only be accessible to players who have finished the main storyline. They encourage everyone to keep hunting and prepare for the update! Fortunately, the main story in Wilds isn’t extensive, as the real game begins post-credits when you reach High Rank.
