Montell Fish Announces Next Album 'Charlotte'

As a huge fan of Montell Fish, I’m beyond excited for the release of his new album “Charlotte” on August 23rd. With an impressive lineup of collaborations, featuring artists like Daniel Caesar and Clams Casino, this 13-track record promises to delve deep into themes of memory, attachment, loss, and growth.

Montell Fish has made it known that his upcoming album, titled “Charlotte,” is set to drop on August 23, a Friday.

This thirteen-track album, a joint production between Jacob Portrait, showcases noteworthy collaborations with artists such as Daniel Caesar, Clams Casino, and Alex G, among others. As stated in the press release, the record delves profoundly into the complexities of memory, attachment, loss, and growth, exploring the underlying psychological aspects of these human experiences.

Charlotte is the second instalment in Fish’s trilogy, which commenced in 2022 with the publication of Jamie. Drawing from his own recent experiences and studies on psychology, memory, and childhood, this project features lyrics that resonate with themes of “love, power, failure, and success.”

The new album from Fish is coming out next, following his earlier EP, “Intercession Before Charlotte,” released under his dj gummy bear alias in March. At that point, Fish shared with TopMob that the project represented a acknowledgment of the ongoing work on “Charlotte,” but it wasn’t quite ready for release yet and needed more time to be completed. Now, the album is finally prepared to be introduced to the public.

Before releasing his new album next month, Fish held a chat with Omar Apollo. During this heart-to-heart session, they explored the upcoming project while pondering over their individual past decisions and future plans. You can watch the entire discussion here.
