This week, Morgan Wallen dominates the music charts. His song “What I Want” with Tate McRae sits at number one on Billboard’s Hot 100, while his fourth album, “I’m The Problem,” debuted as the largest album launch of 2025 and currently tops the albums chart. Remarkably, six of Wallen’s songs are in the Top 10 this week, with him holding all three top positions.
Wallen’s song ‘What I Want’ has climbed to number one on the Hot 100 chart, making it his fourth chart-topper. This is a first for McRae, whose previous best was ‘Greedy,’ which peaked at number three in 2023. The track has been streamed over 31.2 million times according to Luminate. ‘Just in Case’ came in second place, while ‘I’m The Problem,’ the title track, took third. With this achievement, Wallen has unseated Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s ‘Luther,’ which had reigned at number one for 13 consecutive weeks.
The album “I’m The Problem” started off with a staggering 493,000 units sold, as reported by Luminate, largely due to an immense number of streams. In its debut week alone, it garnered an astounding 462.63 million streams. Within hours, it claimed the title of the most-streamed country album of the year across major streaming platforms. Additionally, “I’m The Problem” managed to sell 133,000 copies within this period.
I’ve dethroned The Weeknd this year as the artist with the biggest album debut – that’s me, Morgan Wallen! Despite some bumps in the road earlier in my career, I’ve solidified myself as one of the biggest stars in country music today. My recent success with “I’m The Problem” is just another testament to the surge in popularity I’ve helped bring to this genre over the past five years.
Luke Combs and Zach Bryan are certainly making waves too, but when it comes to the biggest acts, I still reign supreme. Before “I’m The Problem,” I held the top spot with “Dangerous: The Double Album” and “One Thing at a Time.” Amazingly, both albums have remained in the top 15 even five years after their release!
Well, here I was, just another gamer grinding through levels and challenges, when I stumbled upon some major news in my world – the gaming of music business! As you might’ve heard from The Hollywood Reporter last month, my favorite artist Wallen cashed big time. Seems like his label, Big Loud, sold a piece of his catalog to UMG-backed Chord Music Partners for an astounding $200 million. Now that’s some serious in-game currency!
