MultiVersus: How Does Raven’s Powers Work in the Game?

As a gamer who’s been around the block more times than my old N64 controller, I must say that MultiVersus is really stepping up their game with the introduction of Raven from Teen Titans. Growing up on ’90s cartoons, this character holds a special place in my heart, and to see her join the roster is nothing short of exhilarating.

Although Halloween has passed, the fourth season of MultiVersus continues to introduce some eerie and mysterious characters to its lineup. The latest reveal allows players a peek at the beloved character from Teen Titans, Raven.

Raven Joins MultiVersus

For quite some time, Raven has been associated with DC Comics, but it was when the animated Teen Titans show debuted in the mid-2000s that her fame really took off. While this version of Raven isn’t an exact replica of the one from the series, she does share her voice and certain aspects of her design have been adjusted to give her a unique appearance.

“Spells, secrets, and a few family issues, Raven’s not here to play nice.”

Within the animated series “Teen Titans”, Raven is the character with magical abilities, as she’s the offspring of DC antagonist Trigon. In this show, she demonstrates powers such as levitation (flight) and psychokinesis (telekinesis). It seems these abilities will also be central to her gameplay.

Developers have included a detrimental outcome when any object is covered with Raven’s dark abilities. Additionally, they have given her companion, Lenore, the ability to join in combat – a feature she did not possess in the original series.

Regarding appearances, the game offers variations for Raven, including White Raven and Rule Breaker Raven (often compared to the live-action Titans depiction of Raven), and there’s a possibility that a skin for her father, Trigon, is an alternate take on Superman. However, given his in-game size, it might also be a skin for the Iron Giant.

The Tara is Strong in This Game

With Raven joining the roster, she becomes the third character voiced by Tara Strong within MultiVersus. Initially, Strong lent her voice to DC’s Harley Quinn at the game’s launch. Later on, additional content was introduced, featuring the Powerpuff Girls – Strong voices Bubbles, making it possible for Raven to engage with both Harley and Bubbles in the trailer.

What’s left is just needing Ben 10, which remains under the Warner Bros. umbrella. In fact, they might require several voice actors for Ben, considering Strong only provided the voice for the young version. With him maturing and transforming into different aliens, it’s expected that multiple voices would be needed.

Who Else is Coming in the Future?

In the game “MultiVersus”, there’s a vast selection of characters drawn from Warner Bros.’ intellectual properties, ensuring an endless variety to pick from. Recently, Raven and Marceline, the Vampire Queen from the “Adventure Time” series, were announced as upcoming characters. As for Marceline, details about her gameplay are still under wraps, but she’s slated for release during Season 4.

Now that Raven has joined the group, there’s speculation about whether any other Teen Titans will make an appearance. Although Batman is already part of the game, Robin isn’t a playable character yet. The presence of Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Starfire should certainly get their fans pumped up too.

On November 12th, the new season for the MultiVersus game will be released. At present, it’s available to play on computers (PC), Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 systems.
